NPSL Gulf Coast Texans reboot as Pensacola City FC for 2014 season

One of last years NPSL expansion sides has re branded itself this week, saying adios to Gulf Coast Texans and Ciao Bella to Pensacola City FC.

As the clubs hurtle towards this seasons AGM in Atlanta this weekend, owner Bill Fetke wanted to re-announce his soccer side to the public with a more community feel to it, one that he felt more represented the clubs city status.

"The Gulf Coast Texans are a good club, but we just felt that the NPSL men’s team needed to better represent all the Pensacola area clubs and showcase the talent in the city and the surrounding areas." stated Bill Fetke.
"Exciting times lie ahead for us, and with the name change, we will hopefully communicate our desire to create a true community club."
Bill Fetke and Landa May amicably ended their partnership with the Gulf Coast Texans in the ownership of this NPSL (National Premier Soccer League) team in order to better represent the City of Pensacola.   Pensacola City FC play in the NSPL South East conference of the the South Region alongside Chattanooga FC, Knoxville Force, Mississippi Storm, New Orleans Jesters, Rocket City United and newly announced franchise club for 2014 Nashville Atlas FC.

Pensacola City FC have six commitments from last years team, including Pine Forest goalkeeper Brandon May, Catholic High’s Diego Figueroa, and last seasons leading score Harry Mason.
Tryouts will be announced in the coming months on Facebook and twitter (@pensacolacityfc) with the season beginning May, 2014.  For more information, please contact Bill Fetke at wfetke@yahoo.com. The NPSL is a national league that operates in the 4th Division of the U.S. Soccer pyramid. NPSL teams are eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA). The NPSL is the fastest-growing national soccer league in the U.S., operating in 60+ markets across the country. Two Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs, D.C. United and the New York Red Bulls, operate U-23 squads in the NPSL.
