Finally! Big Blue came to their senses on bringing Chase Blackburn back on the team adding depth to their linebacker position. He was remembered for catching an INT going one-on-one with Rob Gronkowski which was a huge play in the super bowl. Jerry Reese is adding players on the team and we see competition in traning camp which is about time for the Giants. They have depth in their linebacking position since they have acquried Keith Rivers away from the Bengals. Here is the linebacker depth chart:
  • Michael Boley
  • Mathias Kiwanuka
  • Keith Rivers
  • Chase Blackburn
  • Greg Jones
  • Jacquian Williams
  • Mark Herzlich
  • Spencer Paysinger
  • Clint Sintim
  • Adrian Tracy
  • Zak DeOssie

John Mara doesn’t rule out the NFL eliminating kickoffs

New York Giants owner John Mara spoke with Michael Eisen of Giants.com about rule changes and serving on the NFL Competition Committee.  One of the things that struck me the most, was that he indicated that he could see the kickoff being eliminated all together. “We had a lot of discussions about whether we should eliminate it and if we did what we could do in its place,” he...

Cincinnati Bengals trade Keith Rivers to the New York Giants

Trade for Cincinnati: Rivers is an above average linebacker when healthy, but the Bengals have a good depth of linebackers already (Maualuga, Manny Lawson, Thomas Howard, and 2011 3rd rounder Dontay Moch) and they had one of the best defenses in the league last season without Rivers playing a snap. Rivers is an injury risk going forward and would likely not be resigned as a free...
