One of the titans of professional football has passed away as legendary Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis has died.

The news came via the Oakland Raiders team website which produced a banner stating that Mr. Davis had passed away. Davis entered professional football with the American Football League as an assistant with the San Diego Chargers which he eventually turned into a head coaching gig with the Raiders.

Davis became the principle owner of the Raiders back in the 1972 and under Davis, the Raiders had 28 winning seasons along with three Super Bowl titles.

Davis was known for pension of drafting speedy players in the NFL draft and coined the monnicker, "Just Win Baby" as he helped the Raiders become a World-Wide brand.

Davis was eighty-two years old.
