Found November 16, 2012 on Louisville Card Game:
Tough weekend for University of Louisville football diehards. Trying to make sense of a 45-26 beating at Syracuse, hoping it was an aberration, not a trend. Knowing that a previously undefeated team, that wasn’t getting better, now has the full attention of Charlie Strong. Forced to wait another week for the arrival of UConn at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. Safe to surmise that UConn has largely been taken for granted, with fans looking forward to another nationally-televised showdown at Rutgers. Wanting to atone for the last minute loss in 2006. The closer next Saturday gets, however, the less UConn will look like a patsy. The Huskies have a 4-6 won-lost record, with wins over Massachusetts, Maryland, Buffalo and Pittsburgh. They’ve been competitive in every game save one, a 40-10 shellacking by Syracuse. UConn, which also has an open date this weekend, needs two more wins, as did Syracuse, to become bowl eligible this season. There won’t be any lack of motivation. Of course, the...

Pitino Hoping To Get More Out Of Behanan & Blackshear Before Battle 4 Atlantis

Rick Pitino said on his radio show last night that he hoped to get sophomore’s Wayne Blackshear and Chane Behanan “going” prior to his team’s departure to the Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis. Blackshear is finally 100% healthy for the first time since he’s been at Louisville. He missed the majority of last season with a shoulder injury. The expectations from Blackshear...

PItino taking notes during Louisville’s romp over Samford

Just a nice, easy 80-54 win over Samford in one of those early season learning sessions for the University of Louisville basketball team. A far cry from the edge-of-the-seat games in which they will soon be immersed. The only person really getting worked up is Rick Pitino as he experiments with varieties of player combinations, some players needing encouragement, others needing experience...

Louisville Is Shooting 31 Three’s Per Game. Why?

Prior to the official start of the 2012-13 season, Rick Pitino had some interesting comments about the outside shooting of this year’s team. Pitino said perimeter shooting wouldn’t be this team’s strength, but it also wasn’t going to be a huge weakness. He described his team as a good scoring team, but not a good shooting team. I realize we’re only two games into the regular...

Pitino horse on the Road to the Derby

It’s just the start of the college basketball season but don’t fault University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino if he had some visions of spring on Saturday. The Pitino-owned horse Goldencents is on the road to the Kentucky Derby after scoring a victory in the $1 million Delta Downs Jackpot.

Hancock struggles to get out of 'slump'

Coming off a shoulder injury, University of Louisville junior Luke Hancock has struggled shooting the ball in the first two games of the season. Hancock and U of L coach Rick Pitino talked about his efforts after Thursday’s Samford win.
