Offseason Check List
1. Rebuild coaching team on defense
This means find an experienced defensive coordinator that runs an aggressive zone-blitzing 4-3. Then have him bring in his own people that can coach the d-line, linebackers, and secondary. We do this by firing Shuey, Caldwell, and Zordich and having Dick Jauron go to the Browns.
2. Rebuild offensive line
We need to try and find a right tackle on the free agent market that can immediately step in over Justice and protect Vick's blind side. We can also use a high draft pick on a right guard. We let Reggie Wells walk.
3. Decide on a starting QB
Vick will be up for grabs. We need to make a good enough offer that the Raiders can't match. Then we can try to use Kolb to trade up in the draft to acquire a good right guard.
4. Mix Up Defensive Personnel
We need to let Stewart Bradley go and use a decently high draft pick on a middle linebacker that can compete with Jamar Chaney during training camp. Keenan Clayton should replace Sims at WILL so we should draft an outside linebacker to have in the mix. We then will resign Quintin Mikell and Darryl Tapp. We should then have enough money to look at a free agent right cornerback replacement so that Dmitri Patterson can play in the nickel.
5. Resign Akers
It's difficult to find a good kicker in the NFL. Keep Akers around and maybe draft someone as a kickoff specialist so that Akers' leg doesn't wear out.

2. I'm not in love w/ Winston Justice either, but I don't need to find his replacement this year. It just not that high on my list. (RG IS THOUGH)
3. It's most likely going to be Vick for next season (if there is one) if there isn't a next season, I think they are going Kolb. That being said, I don't think we need to trade Kolb in order to acquire a RG in the draft. Currently the Eagles have the 23rd pick well before RG's typically go. Pouncey should still be there when the Eagles have the selection and I think he will fit in nicely here.
4. Your crazy on getting rid of Stewart Bradley. You can never judge a player 1 year after the ACL injury. If he doesn't come back to full play by next season, then i would be with yyou. I just think your to quick to judge.
I'm also not in love w/ Keenan Clayton. Unless he puts on 10 pounds anyways. The man would not hold up over the season.
5. They better resign akers.
would be nice if we would actually step up and sign a few big name FAs this year.....if we don't....same result.
That works out perfectly for us, because right guard is easily our biggest need right now. All that releasing of players last season is finally going to pay off!
That being said, there is a lot of players currently on
the team, that are gonna wanna get paid this year.
And the Jeremy Maclin & Desean Jackson deals are going
to spur crap in the locker room eventually.
1. CB
2. OG
3. DE
4. OLB
Every year the Eagles adress the right positions but they never put a lot of money into them nor do they take a lot of high draft choices. I mean last year when we traded down the second round pick for 200 5th rounders was absurd.
Here is a write up on Herremans draft scouting report.
He's a good, solid player when healthy. It's just not worth the risk IMO.
Vick wants to be here, even said he wouldnt mind a franchise tag for one year. As long as there is football, Vick will be an Eagle next year.
They already decided on the starter. Vick is going to be here and starting. Period.
Bradley will move to his natural position at the SAM and Chaney will play the middle with Fokou on playing the weak. Definitely not a playmaking group but can be a solid group with size and speed.
We need a corner oppposite of Samuel. SafetIES because Mikell sucks and probably will be gone and Allen will be coming back from a serious injury. If would have picked Earl Thomas like we should have then we would be fine there. So now we need a safety and STILL need a DE. Just sad stuff. The entire defense is in shambles.
I just don't think its possible to fill all the holes we have on top of a OT position. (maybe Dunlap starts next year) He honestly looked a lot better this season then in years past and seemed to get better with the more snaps he had.
He wasn't bad filling in for Winston Justice in that GreenBay game. granted, he didn't look so hot in some other games he filled in nicely at the end.
Either way, You guys are looking for a ProBowl RT and your not going to get one this offseason.
And I agree EZ. I've looked at some advanced o-line stats. Peters, Herremens, and McGlyn are all in the top 10 in rushing yards on their side. Then MJG and Justice are both in the 20's. Those are the two positions that we've observed as being bad and are statistically bad. Let's replace them.
Say the Eagles moved up to pick Earl Thomas. Then who do we pick in the second round? Do we get LUCKY and pick up a CB that can step in right away?
I'm just saying, there were 4 very highly coveted safeties coming out in the draft and I would have been happy with any one of them. Nate Allen stepped in and played at a very VERY high level for being a rookie and it's a shame he got injured.
Now you can hate on Brandon Graham all you want, but 90 percent of DE's don't start showing who they really are until the second and third year. People didn't think highly of Mario Williams until his second year. So lets give him a chance here. I realize he just got an ACL tear and might not even PLAY next season so things aren't looking so hot right now, but the fact is (The Jury Is still OUT)
I think if we go DE in the draft then theres a great chance in 2 years from now we have 2 stud DE's (Brandon Graham and (new guy)
And I'm sure you've watched all of the Seahawks games which is why you know Thomas had a better year. Am I right?
Thomas has more tackles and more INTs. Allen got all 3 of his INTs within the 1st 4 weeks and did nothing after that. And he is now injury prone. I get it. You want to defend everything Andy does. You are certainly at liberty to do so. But I won't.
He messed up trading up for Brandon Graham. Nate Allen wasn't a bad pick at all. That's not what I'm saying. But the defense would have been much better off with Thomas there because Brandon Graham contributed almost nothing. You could have got the same production from a DE in the second round with a better safety.
And by the way, I saw quite a few Seahawk games. Sunday ticket allows that to happen. I'm sure I've seen him more than you. So what do you know about him? Let me answer that. Nothing.
Congrats you watched 4 Seahawks games. I'm sure that makes you an Earl Thomas expert considering the safety gets cut off on the TV anyway. Having more tackles doesn't make you a better safety. Nor does having more interceptions. If you look at all of the games where Thomas had a high number of tackles, the Seahawks gave up a lot of points or lost. If you look at all of the games where Allen had a high number of tackles, we gave up a lot of points or lost.
If teams aren't throwing or running your way, you did your job as a safety. Let's say the Bears complete a long pass on Thomas and Thomas makes the tackle, but then Nate Allen is right there so that Jay Cutler decides not to make the throw. Thomas gets credit with the tackle, Allen doesn't. See my point?
Really the only way you can judge them is to study the film. I'm going to bet you didn't do that. So I'm going to take the analysts opinion over yours: Nate Allen had a good year and was worth drafting so that we could get Brandon Graham.
I'm sorry that there's such a thing as years beyond your first. Graham will get better and was actually good this year when he was healthy. He was really the only good DE in the draft, so I'd make that pick again in a heartbeat.
