Found August 18, 2013 on The Cardinal Connect:
We’re now just two weeks away until the Louisville Cardinals kick off the 2013 football season. With the AP Poll being released on Saturday, we’re officially in waiting mode. Louisville is ranked No. 9 in both polls which is their highest preseason ranking in school history. I like to think most Cardinal fans are realists and are aware that there are plenty of people out there who will share their displeasure with Louisville being ranked that high with a lackluster schedule. CBS analyst and radio host Doug Gottlieb usually annoys us on the basketball front, but yesterday he decided to share his opinion on college football. It should come as no surprise that Mr. Gottlieb didn’t have anything nice to say about Louisville. CFB Fact – Every SEC,ACC,Big 12,Pac 12,B1G challenger would go undefeated w/ Louisville’s schedule- Every.Single.One — Doug Gottlieb (@GottliebShow) August 17, 2013 First of all, what Gottlieb says is an opinion and not a fact. If Gottlieb means every team in the con...

Report: Louisville Getting Involved With Sharp-Shooter Robert Johnson

Despite Quentin Snider’s de-commitment last month, it didn’t appear that Rick Pitino and his staff would attempt to add another guard to fill Snider’s spot. Louisville already has commitments from two of the top guards in the 2014 class in JaQuan Lyle and Shaqquan Aaron. Pitino also brought in a dynamic backcourt in the 2013 class. New York native Isaiah Whitehead and former...

Fan Day mostly business for Louisville football

While the turnout was probably better than the average, Fan Day definitely loses some of the personal touch when youngsters aren’t able to seek autographs or come face to face with their favorite University of Louisville football players. Strictly a business session, with few of the extras normally present at Fan Day. Only one bouncy attraction that wasn’t attracting many kids...

Thousands of fans gathered at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium on Sunday for the program’s annual fan day. Instead of the usual autograph signing, this year there was an open practice. Sunday’s practice was similar to the two open practices a couple of weeks ago, however this time it was at the actual stadium instead of the practice field. The players weren’t tackling and didn’t...

Jaylen Johnson Will Visit Louisville On Sept. 20

Of all the front-court recruits in the 2014 class that Rick Pitino and his staff is actively pursuing, 6-foot-9 forward Jaylen Johnson may be the closest to pulling the trigger and making a decision. Johnson maintains he’s still considering multiple schools, but Louisville was rumored to be the clear leader throughout the month of July. On Sunday afternoon Johnson announced that...
