Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer isn't a fan of the new NCAA recruiting proposal that allows coaches unlimited contact with recruits through social media and text messages, as well as removing all limits on printed materials. Meyer made his feelings well known about the matter during a press conference on National Signing Day.In fact, the Buckeyes skipper is so displeased with the movement that he is planning on writing a letter to all of his colleagues in the college football industry."Bad stuff," Meyer said during his signing day news conference on Wednesday. "That's stuff that we're going to have to talk [about], the Big Ten Conference is going to meet and I'm putting together a personal letter to all the coaches in America that I disagree with most of it. I would imagine not many people who have recruited wrote those [rules]. That's my question: Who comes up with that? Have they actually got in a car and went and recruited sophomores in high school? Think about this for a second -- unlimited mailings and you can mail them whatever you want. Take a deep breath and whoever said that, put that in motion, could you imagine what's going to be rolling into kids' driveways? Fatheads and magnets -- nonsense."Meyer fears that the recruiting playing field may be titled in the favor of programs with bigger budgets who are able to send more frequent and meaningful mail. Meyer believes efforts should be directed toward cleaning up the enforcement process rather than tinkering with current rules.Ironically, Meyer's Buckeyes would likely be one of the teams who benefited from the change. Ohio State is among the most profitable college football programs in the modern day landscape and undoubtedly has a leg up financially on majority of the competition.Meyer and his coaching staff just got done signing what many analysts believe to be one of the top five recruiting classes in the country on Wednesday. Ohio State did not participate in a bowl game last season, in spite of an unblemished 12-0 regular, due to a postseason ban stemming from an NCAA rules violation under previous coach Jim Tressel.Via ESPN

Before dinner the Buckeyes had already had what coach Urban Meyer had called “a great, not good day”. The Ohio State coaching staff got the icing on the cake with St. Louis native Ezekiel Elliot. National Signing Day: Buckeyes adding speed

Urban Meyer wanted a fast team. It is safe to say that Ohio State has gotten faster, especially at the WR position. Meyer and the Buckeyes landed WR James Clark, WR Corey Smith and WR/RB Dontre Wilson. Clark was clocked at 4.39 in the 40 yard dash. Wilson was Oregon bound before Chip Kelly left for the NFL. Urban Meyer took advantage of the opportunity to flip the speedy RB/WR. Corey...

Michigan Signee Says He’ll Be An Ohio State Fan Until He Dies

These young kids have no sense of history and what a rivalry means.  Reon Dawson is a pretty good cornerback who just signed and committed to play football at Michigan. Dawson is now a Wolverine, and with that his hate and venom should be directed towards Columbus, and Ohio State.  It’s not that way at all. Per the Dayton Daily News, Dawson is a Ohio native and grew up a Buckeye...

Urban Meyer Prohibits Use Of The Word Michigan By Buckeye Players (Video)

I hope new Michigan signee and supposed Buckeye fan Reon Dawson is reading this.  Michigan and Ohio State have probably one of the top five rivalries in all of sports. The rivalry is a known thing around the Ohio State football program, but never talked about.  Why, because head coach Urban Meyer prohibits the speaking of the word “Michigan” in his program. They are simply...

The incredible story of Ohio State recruit Mike Mitchell and his unusual path to football stardom

Especially when that player is in every recruiting service’s consensus Top 30 nationally...
