Oklahoma Sooners Football: Reaction to Brent Venables’ Departure

There were countless articles and columns written about the departure of Oklahoma co-defensive coordinator Brent Venables to Clemson. Having not known Venables at all or ever spoken with him, I felt less than adequate at adding my own take on what he meant to the Sooners and how he’ll be remembered. Instead, I’ll let others do the talking. First, the Tulsa World’s John Hoover remembers how fun Venables was to be around and how the tragedies of the past summer showed his true nature.
