With 6:41 remaining in the third period of last night’s 5-4 loss to the Los Angeles Kings, Predators forward Jordin Tootoo received a 10-minute misconduct for shoving an official. Tootoo was tussling with Kings defenseman Matt Greene after the whistle when the linesman skated in between. After the linesman made contact with Tootoo, the Predators agitator responded with a shove to the back.[Here is the incident]After the game, head coach Barry Trotz said, “I haven’t talked to Toots about that; he left the game early. Whatever happens, it’s in the league’s hands. The referees were closer to the situation. I’m sure they’ll get a call from the league and will probably talk to Jordin and go from there.”Tootoo did not speak to the media after the game.The NHL rule book states the following under Rule 40:40.3 Automatic Suspension – Category II – Any player who deliberately applies physical force to an official in any manner, which physical force is applied without intent to injure, or...
