Syracuse women’s lacrosse team opens the 2012 season when it hosts Boston College on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 4 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. The Orange begins its 15th season with an all-time record of 163-76. Syracuse is ranked No. 12 in both the IWLCA poll and the Inside Lacrosse media poll, while Boston College ranks 13th in the IWLCA poll and 8th in the Inside Lacrosse media poll.

Boston College star shortstop Anthony Melchionda picked up the first ACC Player of the Week award for his outstanding play this weekend. Anthony hit .259, with 1 home run and 5 rbi's for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox this past summer.

Boston College football coach Frank Spaziani announced today that senior running back Montel Harris will not participate in spring practice due to a re-aggravation of the left knee injury that sidelined him for much of last season.
