OAKLAND Josh Outman takes the blame for one A's pitching streak ending on his watch.
Outman became the first A's starter to walk a batter in five games when he issued two free passes in a three-run fourth inning Monday night.
That was a blip on the screen, as Outman turned in yet another fine outing in the A's 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Twins at the Oakland Coliseum. That extended the majors' longest current winning streak to seven games.
It's the A's longest since a 10-gamer June 8-18, 2006. A paltry announced crowd of 10,181 saw Monday's game, Oakland's second-smallest home gathering of the season.
Surely, many of them thought the good times might come to an end as Outman lost the strike zone in the fourth.The Twins scored three runs in that inning, but the A's tied the score on Jack Hannahan's three-run double in the bottom of the fourth.
