Larry Brown Sports:
Sometimes it’s great to live in a country where Presidents forget the definition of is, Jimmer becomes a popular baby name, and the closest our children come to learning mathematics begins and ends with Octomom. But, sometimes the best part about tithing (and then some) to Uncle Sam with the prospect of getting peanut shells in return is the ability to somehow link an Arkansas football coach with a Venezuelan baseball manager all in one week filled with buffoonery.
I took a Sabbatical from this year’s NCAA basketball tournament focusing on what seemed like a fait accompli: me winning the Powerball jackpot. I went through the typical cycle. The delusions of grandeur. Telling all the superiors at my job where they could go — surprisingly they didn’t get the memo that the T.J. Maxx customer service department was my metaphor for Hades. Also, I had to decide which island in the South Pacific I would soon purchase and on which I would subsequently build an oasis made out of coconut sh...

Arkansas Razorbacks: Dear Coach Petrino, God’s Speed on a quick and complete recovery of your physical injuries regardless of what happens. It was not your time, and it was not worse. For those we have wonderful reasons to be grateful. In the vast majority of circumstances [...]
Bobby Petrino is no longer the head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks. Athletic Director Jeff Long held a press conference this evening to announce the firing of Petrino. Long would say that the firing was with cause and he was “knowingly misled” and that earlier reports that Petrino had opportunity to stay were false.
We also learned more about the inappropriate relationship...
Fired Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino says he is sorry for what he calls selfish decisions that hurt his family and others.
In a statement issued Tuesday night, Petrino says he has ''no one to blame but myself.'' He said he chose to engage in an improper relationship and then made ''several poor decisions'' following the end of that relationship.
Arkansas Razorbacks: FootballScoop.com is reporting that two sources have confirmed to their website that Jeff Long has spoken with Garrick McGee about taking over for Bobby Petrino following spring practice. A deal is in place that would keep the existing staff (including Paul Petrino) on staff. [...]
Arkansas fires Bobby Petrino
I’ll admit, it was difficult determining if this should be added to the 2011 Coaching Carousel, but after getting some feedback and thinking it over I decided the news of Arkansas firing Bobby Petrino deserved to kickstart our 2012 Coaching Carousel. Why? With spring practices ongoing across the country and everyone ready to breakdown the 2012 season...
The official fallout from Ozzie Guillen’s expression of love for former Cuban President Fidel Castro has begun.
The Miami Marlins have suspended Guillen for five games, without pay.
That may not be good enough, though. Fans and members of the Latino community in Miami are calling for him to be fired.
Here is the controversial excerpt from the TIME Magazine interview...
Ha. Blown off the road, indeed. When I saw the notification that NMA World Edition had published a video report documenting the dismissal of Bobby Petrino by the University of Arkansas after his rocking the cradle of love while on a motorbike scandal became too much of a controversy for the school to bear, well, [...]
Arkansas Razorbacks: I was informed in writing today at 5:45 p.m. that I was being terminated as head football coach at the University of Arkansas. The simplest response I have is: I’m sorry. These two words seem very inadequate. But that is my heart. All I [...]
I might be the only Atlanta Falcons fan on earth that still has somewhat of a soft spot for Bobby Petrino. Yes, I think his cowardly ditch of the Falcons when Michael Vick was carted off to face dogfighting charges was epically wrong. But Petrino entertains me with his slick (slimy?) ways–even his press conferences can be things to remember. You know, the kinda things that get...
There is nothing better than a fan base that can laugh at themselves when necessary. The University of Arkansas fan base appears to be doing just that. Some Razorback students were spotted earlier this week riding mopeds with blowup dolls on the back, mocking their former football coach Bobby Petrino. Photos courtesy of @s_lester14 & @FOTProgram.
The most eye-opening thing I've read online this week didn't involve Ozzie Guillen, Bobby Petrino or Facebook buying Instagram for a billion dollars. It was about the American media's fascination with and coverage devoted to women's bodies. And it was written by . . . Ashley Judd.
Yes, Ashley Judd.
In this revealing column written for The Daily Beast , the actress...
