Jason Wilde of ESPN Milwaukee takes a look at the entire Green Bay Packer’s franchise and where things stand as they head into the offseason. Greg Jennings According to Wilde, unrestricted free agent WR Greg Jennings is “as good as gone.“ All indications have suggested as much for a few months now, so barring a change in their approach, Jennings figures to hit the open market this March. Derek Sherrod Former first-round pick OT Derek Sherrod is expected to compete for a starting job next year, according to OL coach James Campen. “I expect him to be back and competing for a spot,” said Campen. “He was just on the cusp of doing some very good things when he got hurt. We expect him to be back and ready to go.” Given that Sherrod has already missed a good portion of his first two seasons in the NFL, there are plenty of questions marks surrounding his future with the team. He suffered a broken leg late into the 2011 season and there are some concerns regarding how the leg has healed. If healthy, the Packers could get a real boast if he’s able to live up to his draft status. Brad Jones Wilde notes that the Packers would like to retain LB Brad Jones who is set to become an unrestricted free agent in the coming months. Jones was converted to inside linebacker this season after Green Bay lost Desmond Bishop and D.J. Smith to season-ending injuries. Surprisingly, Jones held up quite well and should some versatility that could make him a valuable player in the coming years. D.J. Williams Wilde writes that it’s “hard to tell how [D.J. Williams] fits the team’s plans.” There was a lot of talk that Williams could be in line for a solid season, but he ended up being a healthy scratch for 3 games and only finished with 7 catches. Williams is small for tight end at 6’2, but he won the John Mackey award at Arkansas which is given to the most outstanding tight end in college football. It will be interesting to see if the Packers target a tight end in the draft.   The post Packers Notes: Greg Jennings, Derek Sherrod, Brad Jones, D.J. Williams appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.
