Credit: Sean Kilpatrick/The Canadian Press Penguins forward Pascal Dupuis has been one of Pittsburgh’s most durable players the past two seasons. He played in every single regular season game during those years. Unfortunately, that will not happen again in 2013-14. The team announced today that Dupuis will be out indefinitely after injuring his knee on Monday night in Ottawa against the Senators. Here is a video of the play Dupuis got injured on:

Ray Shero may be one of the best General Managers the NHL has seen in the last several years, drafting well, trading better and somehow getting the best player in the world to sign under his worth for the rest of his career (Crosby, $8.7 mil per year till 2021). Last season he pulled Jerome Iginla from a surefire deal with the Bruins and didn’t deal a single roster player as he...

Sure, those 31 saves Marc-Andre Fleury made were important.
The Penguins' 4-3 overtime victory Friday night against Carolina at PNC Arena simply would not have been possible without them.
But Fleury's biggest contribution might have been an uncredited assist he earned with a split-second decision in the first minute of the extra period, for it allowed teammate James Neal...

Throughout the 2013-2014 NHL season, I’ll be posting player features each Friday. This week, we’re going to take a look at Matt Niskanen.
It’s been quite a rough season when it comes to the injury-prone Pittsburgh Penguins. This has been a stressful time period for both players and fans. This...
Here’s the thing with the Penguins right now. They have six of the same player: Adams, Harry Z, Vitale, Glass, Conner, and Kobasew. While it isn't the greatest thing to watch, you know what you are getting. They limit the mistakes, they aren't horribly unreliable, and they can hang with low-end teams like the Canes. Those six players give...
The Pittsburgh Penguins were able to fend off the Carolina Hurricanes and leave Raleigh with a 4-3 overtime victory. The Hurricanes held the territorial advantage for most of the night but were unable to beat Fleury enough times for the win.
Here is the possession chart:

James Neal scored the game winner in overtime and also assisted...
Sidney Crosby had his 10 game point streak snapped against the Ottawa Senators in the blowout loss prior to the Christmas break. More importantly he lost a liberate. Crosby has been the only center on the roster to play with the same guys all season on what us arguably the best line in hockey. That…
The Pittsburgh Penguins' winning streak and Sidney Crosby's point streak came to an end in their latest game, but both team and captain still have good runs going against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Crosby has recorded a point in nine straight games against the Hurricanes, and he'll hope to see the injury-riddled Penguins get some reinforcements back Friday night in Raleigh...
