Wes Welker, Tom Brady’s most consistent weapon for five seasons, joined the Patriots biggest threat, the Denver Broncos. Tight End Aaron Hernandez was charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd and was immediately released from the team. Receiver Brandon Lloyd was released, and Danny Woodhead joined San Diego. The Patriots didn’t have a very friendly offseason, and asking Tom Brady to bank on rookie receivers to step up and injury-prone receiver Danny Amendola to replace Wes Welker may be too much.
