When the New England Patriots signed Danny Amendola this offseason, many viewed him as the next Wes Welker with Tom Brady at the helm. While Amendola posted solid totals when he was on the field in St. Louis, he’s missed significant time over the years due to several injuries. Amendola apparently still has some of that injury-proneness in him, as he missed practice on Monday with an undisclosed ailment, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston. Bill Belichick on Danny Amendola: "Day to day." Amendola wasn't at practice Monday. — Mike Reiss (@MikeReiss) August 20, 2013 Head coach Bill Belichick was as forthcoming as ever when asked about Amendola’s status. All he would tell reporters was that the wide receiver is day to day with his injury, which Belichick didn’t provide details on. Considering there’s so little info on the injury, Reiss doesn’t believe it’s a major concern. However, when it comes to Amendola, we’ve seen injuries pile up in the past. It’s are to avoid bumps and bruises during the season, but it will be interesting to see how many games Amendola is able to suit up for, and how many vague press conferences Belichick has to offer to explain his absence.
