NFL Injury Report:
New England Patriots offensive lineman Donald Thomas is
expected to test the free agent market which is set to begin on Tuesday,
according to Shalise Manza Young of The Boston Globe.
While the Patriots have shown interest in re-signing Thomas,
the 27-year-old is “fully expected” to test the open market, according to
Thomas played in all 16 regular season games for the
Patriots last season. He filled in for multiple injured starters, including
Logan Mankins and Dan Connolly.
While he proved pivotal to the team’s offensive line last
season, if Thomas were to remain with the Patriots for next season and beyond they
would expect to pay him as a reserve player. He will try and see if other teams
feel he should be a regular after his production last season.

Patriots are aware that the noise about Wes Welker — and other free agents — soon could get louder -...
The New England Patriots appear ready to lose Wes Welker. There is already talk around the Web about who his replacement is going to be. Can they be seriously thinking of just letting Welker walk right off the team and losing the chemistry him and Tom Brady have? The Patriots must not be very good at the bargaining table. There should be some way to cut a deal that would make both...
The Patriots’ cornerback situation is very much in flux this offseason.
Three of the Patriots’ four primary cornerbacks — Devin McCourty withstanding — are set to become free agents come 4 p.m. on March 12, which means there is some serious work to be done. Aqib Talib has drawn the most headlines of the group, but Kyle Arrington could be equally as important to the future...
Wes Welker sees your move, Patriots, and he’s calling your bluff.
While the Patriots and Welker appeared to be close to making an agreement on a new deal in recent days, the situation has suddenly become much more complicated. First came the news that Welker was none too pleased with how the Patriots treated him last season, and that he might be willing to test the free-agent market...

FANTASY FOOTBALL ANALYSIS
Wes Welker turned in yet another.. er.. ppr studded season. He hauled in a whopping 118 catches for 6 touchdowns. While Julian Edelman was nipping at his heels during the early portion of the season, Welker, in the...
Wes Welker is destined for free agency and Patriots fans wonder if the team can live without the record-setting slot man. The reality is that the Patriots can not only live without Welker, they can thrive without Welker.
Contract negotiations between Wes Welker and the New England Patriots have gone to opposite sides of the spectrum and everywhere in between in a matter of days. I have ridden the Welker Contract Roller Coaster now for two offseasons in a row, and I have spent hours wondering about his future. I live and think like someone living in the modern Western world, so I think in terms of...

The million question is how much of Welker’s success is based of him and how much of it is based off Tom Brady. I don’t care how great of a Wide Receiver you are, it helps having a Hall of Fame quarterback throwing you the ball, but I think people aski underrate Welker’s talent.
He isn’t a perfect fit for every team, but there are several teams I think he would fit in nicely...
NFL free agency begins officially on the 12th March (next Tuesday), but it effectively starts on Saturday, when “legal tampering” can start. And the New England Patriots, despite reaching the AFC Chamionship game two years running, will have to be fairly active if they want to take the next step.
And fans are pretty expectant after Tom Brady’s recent contract extension that...
The AFC East isn’t exactly a divisional powerhouse, but they have some excellent free agents and the rest of the league is on notice. I’ve ranked the best AFC East free agents for the upcoming offseason. I think some of these stars, like Wes Welker, are likely to stay put, but that does not mean this isn’t a huge market for them.

It seems there’s only one position on Patriots fans minds right now: wide receiver.
Patriots faithful is agonizing over slot receivers, outside receivers, deep threat receivers, Wes Welker, Brandon Lloyd, Danny Amendola and countless other options. Whether Welker is back in a Patriots uniform next year or not, New England will no doubt look to acquire a few outside targets for...
Not really any sudden or surprising news here, but the possibility of free agent WR Danny Amendola becoming a New England Patriot seem more and more likely. So this has been considered almost a gimme for a while now, but with Wes Welker deciding to test the market, Amendola could be a factor in Welker's contract negotiations. Writer Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com says that...
