Free agent wide receiver Laurent Robinson has visited a bunch of teams this offseason and one team that wanted to sign him was the New England Patriots, but they were scared off by his concussion history, according to the Boston Globe. Poor Laurent Robinson. In 2011 the wide receiver had a career year, catching 11 touchdowns for Dallas and turning it into five-year, $32.5 million contract with Jacksonville last offseason. But he suffered multiple concussions in 2012, and the Jaguars cut him after one season. Robinson, 28, is getting a lot of interest — he has visited seven teams this offseason, including a workout with the Patriots — but teams are scared of his concussion history. We hear the Patriots wanted to sign him after working him out two weeks ago, but didn’t feel comfortable enough about the concussions to sign him. Robinson is racking up the frequent flier miles. He has visited New England, New York (Jets), San Francisco, Indianapolis, Detroit, New Orleans, and Miami, but can’t get a bite. Perhaps a team will be willing to sign him after Week 1, when his contract is no longer fully guaranteed for the season. The good news for Robinson is that he was recently cleared by a concussion specialist down in Orlando, Florida.   Need NFL Tickets? Loading... Tom Brady Raises Eyebrows, Flashes Devilish Smile From Sidelines During Patriots-Eagles Preseason Game (Video)

Tom Brady can be a treasure trove of great sideline moments, and he added a new one during Friday night’s preseason game against the Eagles. Brady was cooling his heels on the sideline when something caught his attention. He made eye contact with a teammate and raised his eyebrows, flashing a knowing smile before resuming his normal, stone-faced Brady look. While other outlets...

Aaron Dobson has turned things around at Patriots camp

According to Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com,  Patriots rookie wide receiver Aaron Dobson has turned things around lately after a slow start to training camp.  And even better for the Patriots, Dobson turned things around after a less-than-smooth beginning in the spring and has made himself more into a factor in training camp. With Kembrell Thompkins’ strong camp so far,  the Patriots’...

Julian Edelman Appeared to Be Passed by Josh Boyce, Kenbrell Thompkins on Depth Chart in Eagles Game (Audio)

The Patriots must be impressed with their rookie receivers. When New England took the field Friday night in Philadelphia in its first preseason game, it was Aaron Dobson, Josh Boyce and Kenbrell Thompkins lining up with Danny Amendola, Tom Brady and the first-team offense, not veteran Julian Edelman. Either Edelman has been passed by the rookies, or Bill Belichick determined...

Tim Tebow Tells Cameraman Jesus Loves Him

I hope Tebow hangs around with the Patriots. While I think at times the networks can overdo it with the coverage, I do think he is an interesting character and he is never out of character. Case in point. In the Pats locker room, a camera guy has a mishap and yells, "Jesus Christ!" Tebow, in earshot, looks at the guy and says: "He loves you." — Kent Babb (@kentbabb...

Patriots Practice Review: Sloppy Day for the Offense

The Patriots returned to the confines of Foxborough for practice Monday and, despite the low-intensity nature of the "shells" (shoulder pads, helmets and shorts; no live hitting) workout, Coach Belichick couldn't have been happy with the execution of his offense. Drops and poor timing in the passing game seemed to crop up throughout the workout, with backup QB Ryan...

Patriots QB, Ryan Mallet, Doesn’t Like To Block For His Teammates

A.B. I’m not asking Mallet to lay this guy out, or die trying. I’m not even asking for a full speed block. But when you’re the backup for Tom Brady and never see the field in anything but preseason games, a little effort and balls goes a long way. Good thing Blount scored a ridiculous TD because it could have easily gone for a loss with #55 getting that free pass.

Zach Sudfeld, Vincent Jackson Most Impressive Performers in Patriots-Buccaneers Joint Practice (Notes)

FOXBORO, Mass. — The rest of the Patriots and Buccaneers were playing for second best on Tuesday afternoon. Vincent Jackson was far and away the best player on the field at Gillette Stadium. The Buccaneers wide receiver schooled the Patriots’ defensive backs in the New England-Tampa Bay joint practice. It didn’t matter if Aqib Talib was covering him or rookie Logan Ryan, Jackson...

Tom Brady Attends Jay-Z/Justin Timberlake Concert at Fenway Park, According to Eyewitnesses

On Friday night, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was slicing and dicing the Philadelphia Eagles’ defense in the Pats’ first preseason game of the year. One night later, he was back in New England enjoying one of the summer’s biggest concert. Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake hit the Fenway Park stage Saturday night, and Brady was in attendance, according to multiple Twitter eyewitnesses...
