The final exhibition game is usually the time for first stringers to rest. That may not be the case when the New York Giants face the New England Patriots.
Giants coach Tom Coughlin says his regulars will be on the field for up to 15 plays Thursday night. And Patriots quarterback Tom Brady expects to play even though he sat out seven of the last nine preseason finales.
The Giants have scored just two offensive touchdowns in three exhibition games and converted only six of 33 first-down opportunities in the last two. The Patriots are coming off a 40-9 loss at Detroit in which they lost three fumbles and an interception on their first five possessions.
Third-string quarterback Tim Tebow is likely to get considerable playing time behind Brady. A strong performance could help Tebow survive Saturday's final mandatory roster cut.

With the preseason all out of the way, NFL fans can turn their attention to the regular season, which starts next Thursday. Baltimore and Denver will play in a rematch of their excellent playoff game from last year, when the Ravens got the upper hand on the way to their Super Bowl victory.
But the season isn’t just about wins and losses, of course, with the NFL ecosystem yielding...

Yeah, it happened almost a week ago, but for posterity sake, here's Willie Young taunting Tom Brady after a quarterback hurry:
Young was flagged and subsequently benched for this, but I freakin' love it. I'm sure that Slick Willie was telling Brady the Lions are for real, the "swag" is back, and they're coming for him. Seriously, I don't mind...
After watching thousands—maybe even millions—of hours worth of sports, we often marvel at some of the most well-known athletes on the planet. Deservedly so, guys like Kobe Bryant and Tom Brady get brought up around the bar, but what about the other athletes who have had just as much success—if not more—and never even cross […]
The New York Giants have become an all-or-nothing team, and nothings have been the norm lately.
Despite winning the Super Bowl twice in the last six seasons, the Giants also have missed the playoffs three of the last four seasons.
It's a trend that the hierarchy is not happy about, and the pressure is on for Tom Coughlin's team to get back to the postseason, especially...
I’m sure around the fantasy football grapevine you’ve heard about the popular avant-garde draft strategy this year: wait to get your QB. I, personally, also uphold this strategy unless there is impeccable value in a later round (i.e. Tom Brady falling to the 7th). Waiting on your quarterback is a completely plausible angle to approach your draft with, and if you’re so inclined...
Life in the AFC East has been simple for the last decade. Just plug in the New England Patriots at the top of the division, and see how everybody else shakes out.
Bill Belichick & Co. have won nine of the last 10 division titles, with Tom Brady leading the way. The star quarterback has been a constant stabilizing presence on an offense that has endured lots of turnover while...
