Pekka Rinne, Calder Trophy Candidate

Nice to see the Preds getting some national press that's not about profit struggles for once.Rinne, if you're not aware, is one of the frontrunners for the 2009 Calder Trophy--sort of a rookie of the year award. In addition, he's also one of the hottest goaltenders in all of hockey the last few months. Unfortunately, so is Steve Mason of Columbus.Looks like it'll come down to one of these two young goalies for the award. So in addition to rooting for the Preds to win every night to make the playoffs, we should also start rooting for Rinne to get more shutouts and for Mason to get fewer--total number of shutouts may very well decide this race.Go Preds!
