There were loads of positives Saturday for the Predators in their 3-0 win over the Ducks, and one glaring negative. Nashville finally outshot an opponent for the first time all season, 29-20. Goalie Pekka Rinne set a franchise record with his 22nd career shutout, and Nashville didn't give in to Anaheim's tactics of intimidation, allowing only one power play and standing up for each other in the process. But Nashville lost center Mike Fisher for the game in the first period, and he might miss additional time. While in possession of the puck but with his head down, Fisher was hit hard by Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin while he was skating through the middle of the ice. Fisher immediately crumpled to the ice. He stayed down for about a minute, then got up and skated off under his own power. The Predators called it an upper-body injury. Beauchemin, whose shoulder appeared to hit Fisher high, was penalized for a hit to the head. Before the game, the Predators were basically at full strength, with the exception of a lower-body injury for left wing Sergei Kostitsyn. Now Nashville may be without its top center as it heads on a five game road trip, which starts Monday in Chicago. NOTES, QUOTES The hit by Ducks D Francois Beauchemin on Predators C Mike Fisher drew the ire of the Predators. D Kevin Klein dropped his gloves and went over to Beauchemin after the hit to try to defend Fisher. Following the game, Nashville coach Barry Trotz intimated the hit was dirty. "I'll leave that up to the league," Trotz said. "I look at it and I think it's pretty clear, but I'll leave it up to the league." Klein said, "It just looked like kind of a head shot." G Pekka Rinne hit a personal milestone and set a franchise mark Saturday night. Rinne notched his 100th NHL win -- all with the Predators. He also got his 22nd career shutout, a Predators record. "It's a nice number, and hopefully there are many more to come," Rinne said. "Even though it is an individual stat, it is also a team record and a team effort." Coming into the game, the Predators knew they had to stay out of the penalty box against the Ducks. During the playoffs last season, Anaheim connected with the man-advantage against Nashville 36.4 percent of the time. Despite the Ducks' tactics to try to get Nashville to take more penalties, the Predators gave the Ducks just one power play, which lasted a total of 57 seconds. ROSTER REPORT D Shea Weber scored his first goal of the season and played a team-high 27:29 in Saturday's win over Anaheim. D Ryan Suter had two assists, his first points since the third game of the season. RW Patric Hornqvist notched his second goal of the year, giving him a two-game scoring streak. MEDICAL WATCH LW Sergei Kostitsyn (lower body) should return for Nashville's next game against Chicago on Monday. C Mike Fisher (upper body) is out for an indefinite period of time after a high hit Saturday by Ducks D Francois Beauchemin. QUOTE TO NOTE "I didn't see him at all. I got the puck between my feet, and I heard Fish yelling, 'Hey, hey, hey, hey' to get it to him. I didn't see the defenseman stepping up." -- RW Martin Erat, on his pass to C Mike Fisher, before Fisher was knocked out of the game by Ducks D Francois Beauchemin.
