We're just over 5 months out of the sanctions and penalties handed down to Penn State by the NCAA and they've begun to make the long journey through the NCAA penalties by handing over their first $12 million installment payment on their $60 million fine.  That's not the end of this story though as according to the report in the Central Daily Times the NCAA has asked PSU to put the payment into a separate account until the committee decides what to do with the money for charity purposes.  Penn State got the money from a loan from the university's Central Administration and will have to pay it back with 4% interest over a 30 year period. Now if you do the math that's a profit of $8.6 million dollars from the athletic department to the university's Central Administration.  The pain that Penn State's football team is about to feel is nothing compared to the victims of one sick man, but on the field PSU is about to feel the real stiff nature of the penalties the NCAA handed down as they will now face a period where current players can transfer out of the program without losing a season or eligibility and will only have 15 scholarships to hand out in this recruiting class. That will decline to 10 in 2014 along with only having a total of 65 scholarship players in 2014 as well. As each of these milestones hit it's yet another reminder of the pain and suffering of the victims of that vile man, one who's name doesn't deserve to be spoken about, but also hopefully as a way to remember that we as fans must always keep them in our minds as we all try to move forward form one of the most vile things to ever happen involving collegiate athletics.
