South Carolina special teams coach John Butler is heading to Penn State. A person familiar with the deal says Butler is leaving the Gamecocks after one season to join the staff of new Nittany Lions coach Bill O'Brien. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because neither South Carolina nor Penn State have announced Butler's move.

Sue Paterno says she and husband Joe gave $100,000 last month to Penn State, split between a library and an undergraduate fellows program that bear the family name. Sue Paterno said Monday it was an annual gift to the Paterno Liberal Arts Undergraduate Fellows Program and the Paterno Library. The donation was first reported Monday by The Patriot-News of Harrisburg.
