Penn State trustees have approved a sum of $60 million to be paid to the child sex abuse victims of Jerry Sandusky, the Wall Street Journal reported earlier this morning. Jerry Sandusky was convicted and will live out the remainder of his life in prison. Before resigning his post at Penn State, Sandusky was the Defensive Coordinator and #2 guy to Joe Paterno in the Penn State hierarchy. Sandusky was even considered the heir apparent to Paterno. Obviously, his horrific crimes against innocent children derailed that. 25 of the 30 claims against Jerry Sandusky are expected to be finalized within a month according to the Journal. Penn State University said the claims would be settled by its insurer, Pennsylvania Manufacturers’ Association Insurance Company, although the corporation is contesting their liability to the claims in court.. In a related story, Matt Sandusky is legally disowning his adoptive father, who is serving a 30- to 60-year prison sentence for sexually abusing 10 boys over a span of 15 years.. The younger Sandusky, who also claims he was abused by the elder Sandusky has filed papers in Centre (PA) County Court to have the names of him, his wife and four children changed this week. Indeed, Jerry Sandusky has done irreparable damage to both Penn State University and the lives of his family. Paul M. Banks is the owner of The Sports Bank.net, an affiliate of Fox Sports.
