Stop me if you've heard the rumor of Penn State playing UCF in Ireland before? It seems like this game has been in the works for the better part of a year and rumors about it have been flying all offseason, but on Sunday at historic Corke Park the matchup became official.

"We are thrilled to announce that we will play UCF at Croke Park to open the 2014 season, " said O'Brien in a statement. "Our players and coaches are so excited to go to Ireland and play a college football game in such a historic and outstanding venue. I have great respect for Coach O'Leary and his team and playing UCF in Ireland will be a fantastic experience for all the players, coaches and fans."

On Saturday August 30, 2014 the Penn State Nittany Lions and UCF Knights will play their first ever international game at the famed Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) grounds. It'll be the 2nd contest in three years in the capital city of Ireland as Notre Dame took on Navy at the Aviva Stadium last season.

"This is a hugely significant event for Croke Park and Ireland. We in the GAA are looking forward to hosting a competitive sporting occasion." Said Páraic Duffy GAA Director General. "Irish people are renowned for their love of sport as evidenced by the thousands who attend our games throughout the year. I have no doubt that this game will be every bit as attractive. "

The Croke Park Classic will kick at 1:30 p.m. in Dublin (8:30 a.m. ET) and air on ESPN2. Capacity at Croke (pronounced Crow) Park will be 69,000 for the contest.

For the Big Ten this is the first international game since the 1993 contest between Wisconsin and Michigan State in Tokyo, Japan.

Packages are already available and include 1 city, 2 city, and 3 city tour options. Deposits are just $250 dollars for the trip and you can find more information about the events surrounding this game via Penn State's athletic website here.

Because of this trip the previously scheduled contest between Temple and Penn State has been moved to the November 15th open date that both teams have in the schedules.
