BREAK THE WALLS DOWN
Time-lapsed demolition of Penguins' old arena
It took workers nine months to make the Civic Arena, the Pittsburgh Penguins’ former home affectionately nicknamed “The Igloo,” go from this…
…to this, a big pile of dirt and rubble and emptiness.
Now, no one would be expected to sit through nine months worth of video or photos of each stage of demolition, because really, who has the time or want to undertake such...

Very good money and terms in our opinion. We don't remember a player going from whipping boy to completely solid so quickly like Niskanen did.
Arron Asham Signs with Rangers
Arron Asham signed a two-year, $2 million contract with the New York Rangers over the weekend. The Pens re-signed him last June at a rate of $775,000 for one year of service, but the front office did not offer him anything this offseason. During his two year tenure with the Penguins, he tallied 10 goals and 17 assists.
Asham had previously played for the Islanders, Devils, Canadiens...
Penguins sign pair of forwards
The Pittsburgh Penguins signed forwards Tanner Glass to a two-year contract and Riley Holzapfel to a one-year deal Sunday. The hard-hitting Glass, whose salary averages $1.1 million annually, had career highs of five goals and 16 points in 78 games last season for the Winnipeg Jets. He led the Jets with 248 hits. Glass is expected to take over Arron Asham’s spot on the fourth...
The Penguins are on Parise's short list, but that means nothing. Sifting through the ********
Parise will mull over offers tonight, and make his decision tomorrow. [ PuckDaddy ]
Please watch this Bob Mckenzie vid:
As Bob Mckenzie states there is a low offer of 10-year 80 million and maybe as high of an offer as 100 million dollars for Zach Parise.
The Penguins, Flyers, Wild, Red Wings, and even the Devils are the reported teams on...
Tanner Glass will be this year’s Arron Asham only better
Arron Asham decided to take his talents and one-game suspension to Broadway yesterday by signing with the Rangers. That left a pretty big hole on the Penguins’ fourth line and Ray Shero filled it with Tanner Glass. It was really the only NHL move Shero made on the opening day of the free agent frenzy.
He’s no Zach Parise, but Glass brings a lot to the table for the Pens now...
Crosby reaches out to Parise, officially
It was rumored but not it is official:

The Penguins did not send a team to meet with Parise's team of agents. What that means? No idea.
Buckle up, it was a slow first hour, but moves start to happen in the second hour.
Shero makes some big UFA moves…for Baby Pens
Zach Parise. Ryan Suter. Either one would give the Penguins a legit shot a winning another Stanley Cup. And neither one decided to do anything but chill on the couch on the first day of free agency. But that didn’t stop Ray Shero from making a surprising number of moves…for the Baby Pens.
Maybe Shero thought if the Pens missed out on the two biggest names available and failed...

Niskanen gets his money & 2 more years with the Pens
Tomorrow is going to be a super busy day for Ray Shero, which is probably why he did a little warm up today by signing Brad Thiessen and now Matt Niskanen. Two weeks after Niskanen rejected Ray Shero’s qualifying offer to return at the same rate as last year, he signed a two-year deal worth a $550,000 raise.
This deal had to get done ASAP, even if Niskanen was a RFA – the Pens...
