With just a few picks left in the 2013 NBA Draft, former Louisville point guard Peyton Siva finally heard his name called. Siva was taken by the Detroit Pistons in the second round with the 56th overall pick.
He had worked out for the Pistons in May. In an interview last week Siva said he felt more confident about his workout in Detroit than any of the others.
Detroit isn’t a franchise that has had much success in recent years, but considering their depth at the point guard position, I think this is a good fit for Siva.
Congrats to both Peyton Siva and Gorgui Dieng for being drafted tonight and having their dreams come true. Louisville hasn’t had many former players have much success in the NBA in the last decade. These two guys could certainly change that.
