The Philadelphia Eagles claimed defensive end Monte Taylor off of waivers from the Seahawks on Monday. Taylor (6-5, 266) was signed after the draft as a free agent by Seattle.
Taylor played at the University of Cincinnati, making him the 5th player on the Eagles roster from that school, the most of any on the team. He registered 24 total tackles as a Bearcat, six tackles for loss, and five sacks in 24 games. In the 2011 season, he had four sacks and four tackles for a loss along with three forced fumbles.
At El Camino Community College in California, Taylor recorded eight blocked kicks and five interceptions from 2008-2009.
Taylor’s signing brings Philadelphia’s roster to 90, the current maximum for all NFL teams.
