KK threw his second complete game this year. (PHOTO: AP) For the first time since early April, the Phillies scored seven runs or more in back-to-back games. Last night, they jumped out to a big lead early. Tonight, they did it mostly via the long ball in somewhat of a comeback effort. They went down 2-0 after three innings, but in the fifth, they put three runs on the board, followed by four more in the sixth. Kyle Kendrick pitched a solid game, and NL player of the week and month Domonic Brown hit yet another home run. BROWN STAYS HOT Domonic Brown had another nice night at the plate. He went 3-4 with another home run and 2 RBI. Over the homestand, he’s batting .545 with six home runs, and the first Phillie to hit nine home runs in ten games since Bobby Abreu. Simply outstanding. FUN NIGHT FOR KENDRICK Not only did Kyle Kendrick throw a full nine innings of two-run ball, he also tripled, and later tagged up on a fly ball to center. He slid headfirst into third on the triple, gettin...

Reporter Has Freudian Slip While Trying To Congratulate Cliff Lee

Cliff Lee recorded his 1600th career strikeout yesterday, and Philadelphia reporter Sigourney McCreaf attempted to congratulate him on the accomplishment while doing her report yesterday. Unfortunately for McCreaf, she was pretty unsuccessful in doing so. See for yourself above. [Deadspin] Article found on: Next Impulse Sports

He had 12 homers and 25 RBIs last month, and already...

Phillies Reporter Sigourney McCleaf Says Naughty Word That Rhymes With Squat By Accident

It has to be tough to break into broadcasting. Getting that chance when you are young and just starting out has be excited and cause for a few nerves to say the least--nerves that can make you say something you really wish you hadn't. Like the social media reporter for the Philadelphia Phillies at PHL 17 did recently when she meant to say 'twister' and said '*...

Phils End Skid Behind Lee and Brown

The Phillies ended a 3-game losing streak today with a 7-5 win over the Brewers thanks to some key contributions.  And although they nearly blew it in the end, those 7 runs, all scored in the first 2 innings, kept them in the game. 4 of those 7 runs were driven in by Domonic Brown, who is still on fire after a scorching month of May.  He fell just a double shy of hitting for the...

Cliff Lee Looks to Stop the Bleeding. Again.

After two mostly pathetic losses against a less than stellar Milwaukee club, the Phillies are forced to lick their wounds and give the ball to Cliff Lee. They've shown some signs of battle in these games but for the most part are letting mediocre pitchers beat them. With every loss,...

Phillies reporter gets tongue tied attempting to say ‘tongue tied’

During PHL17′s post-game wrap-up of the Phillies 7-5 victory over the Brewers, Sigourney McCleaf had a bit of a freudian slip. Attempting to talk about Cliff Lee’s 1,600th career strikeout, she somehow managed to say “Tongue ****.” Oops Via: Hyper Vocul, HT: Jimmy Traina

Marlins finish first sweep of season

Matt Harvey is already looking forward to his next start on Friday. The New York Mets star rookie will get a chance to face the Miami Marlins again after struggling in an 11-6 loss on Sunday as the Marlins completed a three-game sweep. ''I'm not happy about the start at all,'' Harvey said. ''There are very slight amount of positives that I take from...

Last weekend, I defended Michael Martinez's honor. I did this because the entire phanbase bashed his call-up and since I'm an empathetic man, I felt awful for him. Fast-forward to yesterday and Michael Martinez had the chance to defend my honor and win the game for the Phillies. The stage...

Early Offensive Explosion and Cliff Lee Survive a Bullpen Meltdown

This was definitely a good, bad, and ugly game. However a win is a win. I think. The game started out better than any have all season. The Phillies tagged Mike Fiers for five runs in the first inning including just another three run blast from Domonic Brown. Fiers would...
