Puck Drunk Love:
A new era of hockey is starting in the desert. With their ownership situation resolved for the first time in ages, the Phoenix Coyotes can go back to focusing on what takes place on the ice. They're excited and they want you to share in that excitement.
The team released an outstanding commercial informing fans and non-fans about the heart, determination and passion of the Coyotes. The commercial hits on one topic Phoenix fans should celebrate: having new owners and a real home.
I couldn't help but get pumped up by this ad even though my rooting interests lie with a different team. I also wonder what the pitch was to Shane Doan when he was told he'd be appearing in a commercial for the team. Just stare menacingly into the camera, Shane. Regardless, the ad works and it's great to see the team rallying around their new owners. Let's hope the fans respond and support hockey in the desert.

Mikkel Boedker has finally re-signed after a lot of speculation that he wanted a long term deal after having taken a two year deal that held a cap hit of 1.1mil per season as his bridge deal. His new deal is also a two year deal though his cap hit now is a modest 2.55mil per season. I honestly expected him to get a larger deal after seeing all the various insane contracts both in...
