None of the guys on this new Sports Illustrated cover will be playing when the Celtics wrap up their regular season tonight. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett will be around town, but they won’t be at The Garden
At the event, Pierce talked with Mitch Lawrence of the New York Daily News and confirmed that he will not be playing in Wednesday night’s preseason game against theBoston Celtics – neither will Kevin Garnett – but he did say he will be making the trip to Boston to “enjoy” some of his “favorite restaurants.” He then said he will not attend the game.
We knew they wouldn’t be there, but now we know they’ll be in the city. I wouldn’t be shocked to see them show up at the World Series game.
I know we all have a little bit of a Nets obsession right now (and maybe, for some people, the whole season), but Danny Ainge says everyone involved is moving on.
“I think that we’re already there,” Celtics president Danny Ainge said on the phone this week. “I think they’re there

Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett will wait until the regular season to play in Boston.
The two former Celtics will skip the Brooklyn Nets' preseason game in Boston on Wednesday, as expected. Pierce had said since the pair was acquired over the summer that he didn't want his first game back in Boston to be an exhibition.
The first regular-season meeting between the teams in...
While Paul Pierce will not be playing in Wednesday's game against the Brooklyn Nets in Boston, he will be back in town.
Pierce talked with Mitch Lawrence of the New York Daily News and confirmed that he will not be playing in Wednesday night's preseason game against the Boston Celtics -- neither will Kevin Garnett -- but he did say he will be making...
Paul Pierce has seen it happen.
He played on one of those teams that started as potential and turned into potent, the 2007-08 Celtics winning 66 games and an NBA championship in the first season after Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen joined him in Boston.
Now Pierce and Garnett play for the Brooklyn Nets, whose roster is even more accomplished - and certainly more expensive - than those...
Tonight, DuJour Magazine hosted a cover party for Paul Pierce welcoming the new Brooklyn Net and his wife to New York at The Palm-Tribeca.
Guests included fellow Nets Alan Anderson and Deron Williams, Page Six’s Richard Johnson, former Mets closer John Franco and DuJour CEO/Founder and very excitable event host Jason Binn.
If it sounds like a New York high society gathering, you’re...
8 a.m. ET: Paul Pierce’s favorite haunts in Boston may want to set an extra space for him on Wednesday. Those are the only places the former Celtic is likely to make an appearance on Wednesday.
Pierce and Kevin Garnett will not suit up for the Nets’ preseason game against the Celtics. Pierce will not even step foot in TD Garden, he told reporters this week.
“We’re not playing...
29. Paul Pierce (Brooklyn Nets)
Paul Pierce a.k.a The Truth spent his best years with the Boston Celtics. While he is no longer with the Celtics I look for Pierce to want to return to the NBA Championship but first he needs to show his team and the NBA that he still has some Truth left in the tank.
2012-2013 Season Stats: 33.4 mpg, 18.6 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 4.8 apg

LeBron James created somewhat of a preseason trash talking war last week when he basically accused Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett of being hypocrites. Garnett and Pierce were both open in expressing their disappointment with Ray Allen when he chose to sign with the Miami Heat, and LeBron felt that KG and Pierce did the […]
The day before an October 18th Heat vs Nets preseason contest, LeBron criticized Pierce and KG for "leaving" Boston. The following night the two of them each responded in their own ways. Now for the second time in a week, Doc Rivers has put himself in the good graces of Celtics fans by coming to the defense of his former players. During Wednesday evening's Dan...
The Boston Celtics Post Game Show premiers Wednesday night with a PRE game edition. The Celtics preseason finale is the CLNS crews' season premier. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett will not be on-premise, however your CLNS personalities will be. Wednesday's hosts are Matt Rury and Nick Gelso. Show will start at 6 pm, EST. As always, we will be taking your calls throughout and...
When the Boston Celtics parted with Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett in a blockbuster trade, they were left with a huge rebuilding job focused on three areas.
Those are offense, defense and patience.
Throw in the departure of coach Doc Rivers and the arrival of NBA neophyte Brad Stevens as his replacement and the 17-time NBA champions face a bleak future.
Pierce and Garnett are with...
LeBron James recently called out Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce for leaving a rebuilding Boston team for a contending team after giving Ray Allen a hard time when he did the same thing last summer. Garnett already fired back, telling LeBron to “worry about Miami” and now Doc Rivers is coming to the defense of Garnett and Pierce, noting that their situation was “completely different...
Terry spent the 2012-13 season with Boston before heading over to Brooklyn in "The Trade"
The Brooklyn Nets haven't played since last Thursday (a home win vs the Miami Heat) and don't play again until Wednesday (in Boston versus the Celtics). However, that doesn't mean new developments and news surrounding the team stop in any way.
Come at Doc Rivers if you like, Celtics fans. It’s also open season on Ray Allen. But don’t take any of your frustration out on Kevin Garnett or Paul Pierce while watching your team struggle this season.
Since orchestrating his move to the Clippers in June, Rivers has been sucked into far more he-said, she-said spats than he ever seemed to in Boston. He weighed in on another...
The NBA and the media are trying to play up the new "rivalry" between the two-time champion Miami Heat and the new-look Brooklyn Nets. LeBron James made a few comments last week about Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett (as well as Doc Rivers) leaving the Celtics, a year after ripping Ray Allen for doing the same thing. Despite the fact that the circumstances were not exactly...
No Doc Rivers, no Kevin Garnett, no Paul Pierce, no problem? After losing some of the past decade’s most polarizing NBA figures, the question is can these new look Celtics still make the playoffs? 2012-13 Record: 41-40, 3rd in Atlantic Division, 7th in Eastern Conference 2012-13 Finish: 1st round loss to the New York Knicks […]
