MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- It's been a rough start for the Boston Celtics. They came to Milwaukee on Saturday night looking to recover from a tough loss at home the night before to Philadelphia, and also to avenge a season-opening blowout, also at home, to the Bucks. And while it may not have been pretty, the Celtics' 96-92 victory could go a long way towards helping a team with a lot of new pieces forge an identity. "It’s a big win for us," said the Celtics' Paul Pierce, who eight of his team-leading 25 points on 3-of-6 shooting in the final quarter. "We haven’t been playing well but tonight we grinded it out. Maybe this is just what the doctor ordered." Pierce was one of five Celtics to score in double-figures Saturday. Kevin Garnett added 18 points while Jason Terry, making a rare start, scored 15 and Rajon Rondo 10. Jeff Green came off the bench to score 12 with three rebounds and two blocks, a performance that helped Rivers find some potency in h...

MILWAUKEE - Sometimes a complex game like basketball can be so simple. A game that featured 17 lead changes and multiple momentum swings can be summed up pretty easily. "They made shots when it counted," Bucks guard Monta Ellis said. "It was a hard-fought game. They made more shots than we did and they came out with the (win)."Saturday'sgame was even at 74...

The usual complaints about the refs. Interesting that they still have the Celtics are old thing going there. I guess they haven't looked at the Celtics roster lately. For some reason the gif and exchange at the end really cracked me up. Enjoy today's comments....

They were not quite tagging each other in and out on the sideline like professional wrestlers, but the Celtics shared the load on Saturday in a way they had not in the first two weeks of the season. With Paul Pierce leading the way, Kevin Garnett, Jason Terry, Jeff Green and Brandon Bass all assumed a bit of the scoring load down the stretch as the Celtics’ defense got a handful...

When Jeff Green first came over to the Celtics in the trade that sent Kendrick Perkins, the Celtics enforcer and resident tough guy, to Oklahoma City, he was told that the Celtics wanted him to be more aggressive and he mentioned Paul Pierce, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James as players he was trying to pattern his game after.
He believes he can be successful in Boston and eventually...
We often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics. Here’s a look at some enemy chatter from Milwaukee.
I’m so tired of the NBA! Last night’s game was officiated like always! One of the leagues GEM teams comes in and gets all the calls in the 4th. Paul Pierce can go to the line w/out being touched but Illyasova got fouled in...
