Found April 02, 2012 on Outside the Boxscore:

For those of you who missed the final minutes of yesterday's NHL affair between the Philadelphia Flyers/Pittsburgh Penguins, there was an epic line brawl caused by a hit from Pittsburgh's Joe Vitale on Philadelphia's Daniel Briere.

The brawl also sparked an incident between Philadelphia head coach Peter LaViolette and Pittsburgh assistant Tony Granato who were seen screaming at each other from their respective benches during the fight.

At the end of the day, fifty penalty minutes were assessed to both squads and I would not be surprised if fines and suspensions were on their way:

RECAP: The storm before the storm. PENS LOSE.

Hartnell is the perfect kind of villain.  He always has been.   In this one, the Pens jumped out to a 2-0 lead and then let the Flyers completely take the game over.  Kind of glad this happened, though.  Pens may have gotten a sense of entitlement when Crosby came back and haven't played the same kind of hockey they've played...

okay so here's the ******* drama spread

The Pens lost the last game because they let the Flyers get in their heads and spent waaaay too much time looking up "defense" in the thesaurus and wondering if it meant "just kind of loosely shuffle the puck about." Then there was the Joe Vitale drama, which we don't want to talk about. People are ******* rude. Based on this photo alone, could an argument...

If there was ever a chance for the New York Rangers to upset the Philadelphia Flyers and their fans, tonight is the perfect opportunity. Tonight, the Blueshirts will take on the Flyers in Philadelphia and should the Rangers win, they will clinch both the top spot in the Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference. While the Flyers really had no chance at either, it will still more...

Tell It Like It Is Boys

from Tom Jones of the Tampa Bay Times, NBC almost did a great job covering the nasty final few minutes of Sunday’s Flyers-Penguins game. The direction and camera work were first-rate. Viewers didn’t miss a second of the fights on the ice and war of words between the benches. What was missing was stronger analysis from Pierre McGuire and Ed Olczyk. While both teams seemed to...
