WINCHESTER, Va. – Four players representing three teams mark the initial VBL Player of the Week selections announced Monday by the league office.

Players of the Week


Leo Rojas, Winchester. Rojas currently leads the VBL with a .520 average on 13 hits in 25 at-bats through seven games. The Alabama State product has three doubles and six RBI in those 25 at-bats and his .586 on-base percentage leads the league.


Garrett Furr, Rockbridge. Furr has 15 hits in 29 at-bats for a .517 average and currently leads the league in slugging percentage, .793, and RBI, 10. Furr, who plays at DII Catawba, is also second in the league in hits, batting average and on-base percentage.

Pitchers of the Week


Charles Neely, Winchester. Neely is nearly perfect so far in two starts with two wins and 11 strikeouts in 12.0 innings pitched. Neely has scattered five hits, walked five and has not given up a run.
Hitters currently have a .128 average against the St. Leo pitcher.


Joshua Karr, Harrisonburg. Karr is responsible for four of the Turks league-high seven victories with a win and three saves in 5 1/3 innings over four appearances.

Karr has eight strikeouts, has not walked a batter and has allowed just one run on six hits. Karr pitches at DII Wingate University during the collegiate season.
