An avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and alumni club president was allegedly pulled over by police in Tennessee after the officer mistakenly thought the Buckeye leaf decal on her car was a marijuana leaf.Bonnie Jonas-Boggioni, a native of Columbus but current resident of Plano, Texas, said she was amazed that "they would be that dumb" regarding her recent run-in with the law on Feb. 4 in the Volunteer State. Jonas-Boggioni and her husband, Guido Boggioni, were en route to attend the funeral of his mother when they dubious traffic stop occurred. The married couple was traveling a few miles east of Memphis when a black police SUV pulled them over. Moments later, a second police vehicle arrived. Two officers then proceeded to approach the Boggioni's car. When one of the officers asked Jonas-Boggioni why she had a maijuana sticker on her bumper she responded by explaining that it was actually a Buckeye decal, the same ones given to Ohio State players to stick on their helmets for good plays.“He looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language,” she said.Mr. Boggioni then got out of the car to show off the 2002 national championship sweatshirt he was wearing, which featured a Buckeye leaf on the front. At that point, the officers explained their reason for suspicion by proclaiming that they believed the car may have been transporting marijuana. They then advised the couple to permanently remove the decal from their car. However, Jonas-Boggioni wasn't having any of that.“I didn’t take it off. . . . This little old lady is no drug dealer.”Via The Columbus Dispatch
