Hornqvist, who was injured January 16 in a game against the Anaheim Ducks, will be taken off injured reserve prior to the start of the game. Hornqvist will bring much more net front presence, which will help the power play that has been awful of late. This game against the Avalanche is the first of back-to-back games. Tuesday, the Predators return to the Music City and take on rival Detroit Red Wings. With Tuesday night being a bigger game, expect Chris Mason to start so Pekka Rinne can get some rest to play Detroit. The keys to win is 1) Pucks, people to the net; 2) Get the power play working again; and 3) Win the game early. Avalanche: After blowing a 4-1 lead Saturday night to the Edmonton Oilers in regulation 4-6, Colorado is mad and want to get the two points they should have had Saturday. Semyon Varlamov has to be the angriest man in the locker room being left out to dry having 56 shots being put on him.  The loss of Gabriel Landeskog has hurt them extremely. Landeskog is starting to skate after being put on injured reserve with a head injury. Also, losing defenseman Erik Johnson has to hurt as well since he is their number one guy on the back end. Johnson is also out with a head injury. In hope of defensive support, the Avalanche called up Stefan Elliott from the AHL. Without forward Ryan O'Reilly, Colorado is losing a scoring threat. O'Reilly is looking to be traded and has yet to play a game for the club. He is quickly burning bridges with fans and team mates with his no show so far this season. Matt Duchene scores bizarre goal where he appears to be offsides

This is easily one of the most bizarre goals that has happened so far this year.  Colorado Avalanche forward Matt Duchene entered the zone about a foot ahead of this dump in, and seemed surprised when the whistle never blew to declare him offsides.  Duchene then corralled the puck and fired it past Nashville Predators goalie Chris Mason to give the Avs a 3-1 lead.  Obviously Nashville...

Duchene leads Avalanche past Predators

DENVER (AP) -- It took a disputed goal by Matt Duchene for the Colorado Avalanche to snap their string of nine straight losses to the Nashville Predators. "The league already verified that...

Gaustad’s presence missed after injury in 6-5 loss to Colorado

Photo Credit: Bruce Bennett/Getty Images Nashville defense, one of the stingiest in the NHL, simply failed them this afternoon. In the higher altitudes of Denver, the Nashville Predators dropped a wild and offense-filled game 6-5 against the Colorado Avalanche. A fact that seemed to be lost in the overshadowing of the blown offsides call was the loss of Predators faceoff specialist...

Richard Cloutier: Has Management Figured It Out Yet?

The Oilers are the most entertaining team in hockey. Not the best. Definitely not the best. They almost lost tonight against a Colorado Avalanche team not good enough to tie their skates. This is an Oilers team that can fire off 56 shots and let in four soft goals against all the same game. Fans don't know what to think. Read Twitter during a game: One minute, Oilers...
