On Thursday night during the NBA Draft, there were a handful of teams that had “reportedly” had their hopes on selecting Gorgui Dieng in the first round. The Oklahoma City Thunder made it clear that they were going to take a center and some speculated it would be Dieng. However, OKC decided to go with former Pitt big man Steven Adams. The Chicago Bulls were also a team that reportedly had interest in Dieng. A majority of Louisville fans seemed to be holding out hope that Dieng would land in Chicago, considering the Bulls could use some depth at the center position and Gorgs wouldn’t be too far from Louisville. Cardinal fans weren’t the only ones who were hoping Dieng would end up with the Chicago Bulls.
