The Michigan Wolverines obliterated VCU, 78-53, to capture a spot in the Sweet 16 of last season’s NCAA Tournament. Those two teams could meet again early next season, as they’re on the same side of the bracket for the 2013 Puerto Rico Tip-Off.
The tournament begins on Nov. 21 and will be broadcast on ESPNU and ESPN2 over the span of four days. Michigan will open on Thursday against Long Beach State, which finished 19-14 last season and last made the NCAA Tournament in 2012.
Should the Wolverines win that game, they could face Virginia Commonwealth in a semifinal on Friday — the Rams open with a tough test, against Florida State of the ACC.
The other half of the bracket features matchups of Northeastern-Kansas State and Charlotte-Georgetown.
Here’s the full bracket, with times and dates.
