PLAYERS: Colby Lewis
TEAMS: Texas Rangers
The Texas Rangers have a rehab plan in place for right-hander Colby Lewis. Lewis, who is scheduled to make an extended spring start Saturday in Surprise, will join Triple A Round Rock next following that game if there are no issues. Lewis, who is coming back from a torn right flexor tendon, will make his rehab debut May 9 for Round Rock in Las Vegas with the plan for him to throw three innings. He will remain with the Express and should make a four-inning start May 14 in Tucson. Lewis can remain on the rehab assignment for up to 30 days. Lewis made his extended spring debut Monday with a 17-pitch inning. He said his arm felt great following the outing.

Rangers not panicking because of offensive woes

ARLINGTON, Texas No one needs to tell the Texas Rangers they aren't getting the job done at the plate. They know it and the numbers back it up. The club also believes it can turn things around at the plate. Texas came into Friday's series opener against Boston batting just .238 over the past five games. When the Rangers have gotten hits, they haven't been able to string...

Move over Adam Richman ... Man vs. Food has nothing on this awesome fan at Friday night's Texas RangersBoston Red Sox game. The old saying goes that "Everything is bigger in Texas," especially the food that can be found at the concession stands at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. And on that list of gigantic food offerings is the impressive Beltre Buster. NESN cameras...

Day Ends Well for Young Texas Ranger Fan With Awful Sister

Going to the ballpark is a pretty big deal for a kid. A souvenir to commemorate the game--like a home run ball--just makes the day perfect. So imagine the dismay on this poor kids face when his sister takes his home run ball and throws it back! In her defense--no, there is no defense for her. It's not like the Texas Rangers are infamous for throwing back opposing home run...

Beltre, Holland lead charge past Red Sox

The Rangers must have known somehow that I had a bad day and needed them tonight.  They sure came through.  What good boyfriends! Derek Holland was pretty great.  He tossed eight scoreless innings, allowing six hits and walking one while fanning six.  He didn’t have his usual meltdown inning, and he didn’t seem to lose focus even after his teammates gave him a nice big cushion...

Beltre, Holland shut down Sox in Texas

Red Sox Should Practice ‘Shutout Shrug’ to Move on From Derek Holland’s Dominance (Video)

Sometimes, it’s just not your night — and it certainly wasn’t on Friday night for the Red Sox. Derek Holland pitched eight shutout innings and Adrian Beltre had all the RBIs the Rangers needed to come away with a 7-0 win over the Sox. Felix Doubront was shaky early and was burned for it eventually, but the Red Sox offense never got going in a significant way anyway. NESN Nation’s...

Rockies sign Roy Oswalt to minor league deal

The Colorado Rockies signed veteran pitcher Roy Oswalt to a minor league deal on Thursday. Oswalt posted a 5.80 ERA in 17 appearances with Texas last season. Oswalt will report to extended spring training before being assigned to a minor league team. During his time away from the game, Oswalt has been staying in shape at home in Mississippi. If Oswalt has anything left in his arm...

Chris Sale (3-2) remained undefeated in his career against AL West teams, settling down after a rough second inning to make it through seven. The left-hander struck out seven...

Adrian Beltre, Will Middlebrooks Can Turn to Each Other as Source of Inspiration During Weekend Series

Here comes the part where we all make a joke — something along the lines of, “Hey, why can’t the Red Sox get players like that?” Adrian Beltre turned in a monster game against the Red Sox on Friday. He went 4-for-5 and delivered a bases-clearing double that broke the game open in the fourth inning. It’s exactly the type of performance that can bust a veteran out of a prolonged...

Norman the Scooter Dog does his thing at Rangers-White Sox game

This is Norman the Scooter Dog (yes, the name just about says it all), who headlined the Texas Rangers' "Bark in the Park" event on Tuesday against the White Sox.

Series Preview: Boston Red Sox (20-8) vs. Texas Rangers (17-11)

While the 20-8 start to the regular season is undoubtedly impressive for the Red Sox, many skeptics note that many of the team’s wins have come against the sub-.500 Blue Jays, Rays, Indians, and Astros. In order for these skeptics to become believers, the Sox will have to show that they can compete with the league’s best, starting this weekend in Arlington against the (17...
