As the Texas Rangers fight to maintain their spot atop the American League West, they will be getting help.  Neftali Feliz, who has been out all season while recovering from Tommy John surgery, is set to come off the disabled list early next week.  In fact, if all goes well, he is on pace to be activated Monday. Feliz all but confirmed the likely activation on his Twitter account yesterday. Traveling to #Oakland... #VAMOS!! #rangers — Neftali Feliz (@NefFeliz) August 29, 2013 The Rangers will be taking on the Oakland A's starting Monday.  If Feliz is traveling with the team to Oakland, it must mean he will be on the active roster.  Feliz's rehab has gone well after a minor setback earlier in the month, so he has likely passed all the tests the Rangers could have hoped he would pass.  If he is ready, and if he is activated, it could be a nice boost for Texas. Feliz was converted to a starter last season after spending his first three years in the bullpen.  The transition seemed to be going smoothly as he posted a 3-1 record and a 3.16 ERA over seven starts, but then Feliz was injured.  Overall, Feliz has appeared in 162 games in his career and has a 2.67 ERA.  The Rangers can certainly use that type of production on the mound.
