Per Buster Olney of ESPN, the Rangers signed Japanese import Yu Darvish to a 6-year/$60M deal. Favorite Twitter gag about this so far: Props to Angels GM Dipoto. Angels sign Wilson for 75 mil, force the Rangers to spend 120 mil to back fill his spot in the rotation #genius I'm not so sure about that; word so far is that Darvish may be the best Japanese pitcher to hit the US in approximately ever, and is quite a bit younger than the Angels' C.J. Wilson. On the other hand, Texas paid a "record" $51.7 million posting bid. That's a lot of money to have sunk into a guy nobody's ever seen pitch in the majors. We'll see how this plays out.

Straight Edge Worlds Collide!

Texas Rangers have a decision: Fielder or Hamilton?

The Texas Rangers, coming off two consecutive American League titles and two consecutive World Series appearances, know exactly what it’s like to be so close you can taste it. Watching their team come within a single strike from winning their first World Series this summer was one of the most painful moments I have witnessed in sports history. Coming so...

A's season looks over before it starts

Now, since Yu's signing on Wednesday. Olney's colleague, David Schoenfield, has now ranked his top rotations in baseball since the Yu signing. Of course, the Philadelphia...

MMO Fair or Foul: Who Is Wright?

Buster Olney of ESPN.com, talked to three evaluators about Wright’s game. From an AL evaluator: ”He will have value at the trade deadline if healthy and performing as usual. He will bring compensation as a free agent, so his value to Mets is fairly high, and a team acquiring him will have to give up more than the value of a couple of high draft picks. He’s a very...

Oh Yu: A Collection Of Awful Yu Darvish Headline Puns

Japanese pitcher Yu Darvish officially signed to a six-year, $60 million deal with the Texas Rangers on Wednesday.
