Jameel McClain will remain Baltimore's starting weak-side linebacker against Cleveland.
Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Dean Pees says McClain will get the nod Sunday over Josh Bynes, who started the first six games when McClain was sidelined by a spinal cord injury.
McClain returned in Week 7 and had six tackles in the 19-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bynes was sidelined because of an infected finger.
Pees expects Bynes will back up McClain against the Browns, calling it ''a good situation now.''
McClain has been a full-time starter for the Ravens since 2010.

Former Oakland Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain said he walked away from the NFL because he was worried he would do something he would regret. “I felt like Aaron Hernandez, like I just wanted to kill somebody,” McClain said in an interview for this week’s ESPN The Magazine. The Raiders released McClain in April. He signed with the Baltimore Ravens, but abruptly decided...

They were symbolic mid-season cuts because both had been under-performing--- but even more significant, John Harbaugh cut them to send a message to the rest of the Ravens roster.
He might as well have said, "Look, I know you were brought in here as free agents after successful careers elsewhere, but right now I just don't think you're capable of playing like a Raven...

Baltimore Ravens (3-4) at Cleveland Browns (3-4)
Obviously, 3-4 is not how the Ravens wanted to start the season, but the schedule gets easier from here for them. After being underdogs in 5 of their first 7 games, the Ravens will definitely be favored in at 4 games (@Cleveland, vs. Pittsburgh, vs. NY Jets, vs. Minnesota) the rest of the way and may be favored in another 3 (vs. Cincinnati...
The Baltimore Ravens have waived safety Michael Huff and defensive end Marcus Spears.
Michael Huff was signed in March 2013 from the Oakland Raiders to help fill the void left by Ed Reed – a task which always going to be hard considering Reed’s caliber.

Jimmy Smith has been largely average throughout his short career. This has mostly been due to injuries, including a high ankle sprain he suffered on the first play of his NFL career. Because of injuries and inconsistent play, Smith has never lived up to the first round selection the Ravens used on him.
