The Rangers have recalled forward Micheal Haley for tonight’s game against the Flyers. This is for one of two reasons: 1) Brad Richards cannot go tonight, or 2) Haley will replace Stu Bickel in the lineup to provide better skating without losing that edge.
In 56 games in the AHL with Connecticut this year, Haley has a line of 9-12-21 with 158 PIMs.
Marc Staal left Tuesday’s Rangers-Flyers game after being hit in the eye by a puck early in the third period.
The Rangers defenseman was hit in the eye by what appeared to be a redirected slap shot from Philadelphia’s Kimmo Timonen. Staal does not wear a visor for protection, so he hit the deck immediately and began bleeding. He was writhing in immense pain and was treated on...
Rick Nash had a goal and assist and also scored in the shootout to lead the New York Rangers to a 3-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres Sunday night.
Ryan Callahan also scored for New York in the shootout. Derek Stepan added a goal, and Henrik Lundqvist made 28 saves. New York has won two in a row.
Drew Stafford and Nathan Gerbe scored for Buffalo. Ryan Miller stopped 26 of 28 shots...
Rangers center Brad Richards is sitting out against the Philadelphia Flyers two nights after absorbing a hard hit from behind that led to a suspension for Buffalo's Patrick Kaleta.
Richards, who played in New York's 20 games this season before Tuesday night, returned to the ice Sunday after being shaken up in the third period of the Rangers' 3-2 shootout victory over...
Patrick Kaleta's hit from behind on Brad Richards is sure to draw some attention from NHL disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan this week but, as the New York Rangers forward lay still on the ice, Richards' team and head coach took notice and responded.
After Richards was crashed into the boards by the Buffalo Sabres forward with his stick at 3:28 of the third period, the Rangers...
According to multiple sources, Mats Zuccarello's KHL team Metallurg was eliminated from the playoffs today, meaning he is available for the Rangers to sign.
It has been reported that Glen Sather is interested in bringing back Zuccarello who is still Rangers property and would not have to clear waivers before signing with the team.
Zuccarello's agents were in New York...

This one feels good. What started out to be a pretty slow game through the first two periods ended with a wild sprint to the finish, where the Rangers would defeat the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 in OT.
Let’s be clear. The Rangers had to win this game. Not just because they needed the two points, but because they had to defy the refs, who were atrocious tonight, and they had to make the...

The Rangers’ American League affiliate, the Connecticut Whale were able to grab four of four possible points this weekend and sweep the Islanders’ affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, only allowing Bridgeport one point. Connecticut was able to score a combined 10 goals in just 2 games; 5 of which came on the power play. It [...]

The Rangers love to make it difficult on themselves, don't they? The Rangers held back Buffalo despite 3 late penalties to skate to a 3-2 shootout win at MSG tonight.
The Rangers and Sabres skated to a scoreless tie in the first period. Although the bulk of the play was spent in the Buffalo end, the Rangers could only muster 7 shots against Ryan Miller,...
The Rangers extended their win streak to two in a wild, 3-2 shootout win over the Sabres but the end result has mostly been lost in the rightful consternation over the hit by Patrick Kaleta to Brad Richards early in the third period.
Trailing 1-0, 3:28 into the third, the tone of the game changed following the hit by Kaleta. For all those who have argued...
