CaneInsider checked in with several recruits after the big 21-16 win against the University of Florida this past Saturday. The overall impressions were positive, especially from those already committed to the University of Miami who seemed to have their college choice confirmed by the win. The program’s upward direction was a common theme for several recruits we spoke to.
University of Florida Commit Dalvin Cook of Miami Central High said that he’s still committed to Florida despite the team’s loss but he attended the game as a Miami recruit. The Hurricanes are full court press to try to get him to stay at home.
Another recruit Miami is after is wide out Braxton Berrios who attended the game versus Florida and was all smiles afterward saying that he really enjoyed his visit to the campus.
Booker T. Washington DE commit in the 2014 class, Demetrius Jackson, said that he thinks Cook will eventually be a Hurricane. Jackson’s teammate Chad Thomas talked about how exciting the win was after the game in the tunnel. Those two along with cornerback Nigel Bethel tweeted the day after the game that he was pleased with the Miami win because coupled with his team’s win over No. 1 ranked Miami Central High, it made his weekend incredible.
We beat Central yesterday & Miami beat UF today wow my weekend can’t get any better

Big time wide recevier target, Travis Rudolph, is back in touch with the staff again following the Hurricane win over the Gators. It had been two months where Rudolph had moved away from the ‘Canes but is now back in touch and they have a solid shot of landing him in a much needed position for developing depth.
Add to Rudolph, Johnnie Dixon, a wide out from Palm Beach’s Dwyer High School. He commented on his twitter account after the game about how good the Miami fan base was.
In the junior class, 2015 Miami Commit Charles Perry said of the upset victory that ”it was a quality win.” He also said that he’s still very excited to become a Hurricane, even though he can’t sign a letter of intent for over a year.
