Found June 18, 2013 on Pro Football Zone:
Dan Graziano of ESPN.com believes the Washington Redskins will let linebacker Brian Orakpo play out the final year of his current contract before working on an extension. Brian Orakpo says he’s not worried about his contract situation with one year left on his deal. For whatever it’s worth, a week ago I believed the Redskins were likely to try to extend Orakpo this offseason, but after spending a couple of days at their minicamp last week and talking to people there, I now believe they intend to let him play out the deal and negotiate next offseason. The Redskins would be smart to wait until after this season to work on a contract extension for Orakpo.  They need to see if he can stay healthy in 2013 before giving him a new deal. Still No Progress Between Brian Orakpo & Redskins Regarding An Extension

It’s been reported this offseason that the Washington Redskins and linebacker Brian Orakpo have wanted to get a long-term extension done before he enters the final year of his current contract. With training camp just over a month away, the two parties have yet to work on an extension. The good news however is that Orakpo doesn’t appear to use the lack of new paper as ammo to...

The Return of Roy Helu

Nine months after injuring ligaments in his toe, Redskins running back Roy Helu, Jr. was seen taking handoffs, catching passes, cutting and running full speed.  The Redskins front office was forced to bring in competition for 3rd year running backs Helu and Evan Royster because of their injured and ineffective 2012 campaign behind 6th round rookie sensation Alfred Morris. The Redskins...

Who Is In Competition For The Redskins Final Roster Spots?

Redskins training camp is quickly approaching as it is now less than six weeks away. A few weeks ago we visited training camp battles within each position group. We have a firm grasp on who will be the Redskins top 40 players or so on their 53 man roster but the remaining spots are up for grabs.  So let’s look at the battles going on for the final roster spots this summer. Chase Minnifield is Ready to Compete for a Roster Spot

After suffering a torn ACL in mini-camp that ended his rookie season before it ever had a chance to get started, Redskins cornerback Chase Minnifield says he will be ready to compete for a job in the secondary when training camp opens on July 25th in Richmond Virginia. Minnifield was medically cleared earlier this month...

According to Darren Rovell of ESPN, Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder has sold Johnny Rockets, which he bought several years ago. Redskins owner Dan Snyder’s private equity company RedZone Capital has sold Johnny Rockets for an undisclosed sum. — darren rovell (@darrenrovell) June 18, 2013 I’ll be honest, since Snyder bought Johnny Rockets, I thought they went down hill...

Redskins open to bringing back Tanard Jackson

Redskins head coach Mike Shanhan has indicated that he’s open to welcoming back safety Tanard Jackson once he’s eligible to be reinstated by the NFL as he continues to serve a one-year suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy just before last season. “At the safety position, we lost [Brandon] Meriweather and Tanard Jackson last year and you are hoping...

Pat White “thankful” for his chance to play again

Quarterback Pat White was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in 2009. By the end of 2010, White was cut by the team and many assumed his career was over at that point. Fast forward to 2013 and you’ll find the Washington Redskins giving White a shot and he’s thankful for it. I know that there’s still a lot to be learned, a lot for me to accomplish, but I’m willing to put in the...

Redskins Position Battles: Offensive Tackle

This is another post about Redskins Position Battles heading into training camp. The Redskins put together a rushing attack that broke team records all the way around the board last year and that can be credited to many things. Of course Robert Griffin III and Alfred Morris had unreal seasons, but the key ingredient that...

Washington Redskins Fans Should Be Glad Robert Griffin III Isn't a Party Animal

Social media gives fans 24/7 access to some athletes; guys who like to let people know what they are doing every second of the day. A lot of fans eat up that kind of access to their stars and want to see them out and about having a good time in their respective cities and partying.  It's fun. Saints Nation: How is Donte Stallworth Still in the League?

Under the radar when Devery Henderson signed with the Redskins the other day was that they also signed former Saint Donte Stallworth in tandem with him. That got me thinking, how on EARTH is this guy still in the league?? It seriously makes no sense at all. And actually, I want to know how he survived that hit pictured to the left. Stallworth was born just two months after...
