RegionIIISoccerUSA: NPSL Sunshine Conference announce 2013 All-Star lineup

Posted October 28, 2013

The NPSL may be in it's winter hibernation but clubs across the country continue to edge themselves toward the warmth of the 2014 season by starting to offer tryouts and also planting the seedlings of growth for the upcoming season.

As part of that continued growth, one branch of the NPSL tree announced its All-Star team for the 2013 season, with Cape Coral supremo and Marketing Chairperson JP Terrasi unveiling the selections via their NPSL Sunshine press release on October 25, 2013.

Accordingly, all five clubs from the conference were invited to vote for their favoured selected players with the outcome allowing a total of 13 players allocated All-Star spots in the Conference first team.

One goalkeeper, four defenders, four midfielders and four attackers were chosen in order to give a fair and even spread of players, with the breakdown as shown below.

As Sunshine Conference winners, Jacksonville United topped the entrants with six of the thirteen spots, Tampa Marauders managed three players, Georgia Revolution two players, the final two places were filled by a player from each Miami United and Cape Coral Hurricanes.

If this season's competition is anything to go on, next season will be even better.

With the addition of Storm FC to the mix, this group of teams will definitely be basking in the Sunshine! Catch the NPSL Sunshine Conference press release here.
