The murder case Hernandez is not looking good right now, but it could take a direct turn for the worse if the Feds get involved. Pro Football Talk is reporting that the murder case against Aaron Hernandez could still get federal government involvement, and that in turn could lead to Hernandez possibly facing the death penalty at some point. The grand jury that has been currently constructed in Bristol County, Massachusetts is considering whether to indict Hernandez for the murder of Odin Lloyd. Another grand jury in Suffolk County, Massachusetts reportedly is still considering whether to indict Hernandez for the July 2012 double murder of Safiro Furtado and Daniel Abreu. A former attorney named Jack Furlong, joined Pro Football Talk to discuss how federal involvement could affect Hernandez’s case. “If this was a murder of a witness or someone who knew something about the earlier murder, then this case becomes potentially a death penalty case and a federal proceeding,” Furlong explained regarding the killing of Odin Lloyd, who reportedly may have known something about Hernandez’s involvement in the double murder.  ”Remember, Massachusetts does not have the death penalty.  The United States government does. . . .  This case . . . went across state lines repeatedly between Florida, Connecticut and Massachusetts.  It could go federal in a heartbeat.” As we found out with the Michael Vick case and so many other, the federal government has no problem hijacking a criminal case and making it their own.

Time To Be AccountaBILL

Has anyone else used that god-awful headline yet? Sometimes I’m envious of the sports-radio host mentality. It must just be so awesome to sit in judgment, move goalposts and criticize an outcome no matter which way it goes. I loved Felger yesterday attempting to make the point that since all the Belichick toadies said he shouldn’t talk, that they should now be pissed at him because...
