NEW BUZZ IN TOWN
The Charlotte Bobcats will have a press conference Tuesday afternoon to announce the franchise will change their nickname to the Hornets.
The Charlotte Bobcats and owner Michael Jordan held a press conference on Tuesday announcing that the NBA’s youngest (and least successful) franchise will become the Charlotte Hornets.
Charlotte was, of course, home to a team called the Hornets from 1988 through 2002, when the team moved to New Orleans. When the New Orleans team decided to change its name to the Pelicans starting...
As soon as I caught word that Charlotte had started the process of taking the Hornets name back, I sent an email to all of the writers here at Trade Street Post. I had mixed commentary in return. Those emails inspired me to write this little article, just to give a spotlight into my path as a fan of the NBA in Charlotte. Hope you enjoy it. Bear with me on it because...

‘Kobe Bryant with the dagger!’ Literally.
On a nostalgic day for NBA fans with the news that the Charlotte Bobcats will once again be called the Charlotte Hornets, Kobe Bryant decided to have some fun at a bad decision the Hornets made in 1996.
Kobe tweeted out the above photo from his instagram (@kobebryant) and yes, he’s rubbing in the Charlottes fatal mistake of trading...
The cost of a name change?
The value of nostalgia?
The Charlotte Bobcats are about to find out.
After spending months gauging the Charlotte market, to find out what kind of reception a return to an old friendly face would bring, the Bobcats franchise is apparently pleased enough by the supposedly ‘mixed’ results to bring back the wildly popular and awesomely...
