Found August 01, 2013 on Project Spurs:
According to the French website Franceinfo.fr, San Antonio Spurs guard Nando De Colo was withheld from practicing with the French national team Thursday due to an undisclosed injury. However, De Colo is still expected to play in France's first exhibition game on Friday against Finland. While the first warm-up match at Eurobasket 2013 is scheduled on Friday, Nando De Colo remained in care on Thursday, according to AFP. [T]he nature of the injury has not been revealed by the French team's staff. This setback should not prevent him from participating in the (exhibition) game against Finland. Though it's just presumably a minor injury for De Colo, it's a reminder that with seven Spurs players about to begin playing international basketball to represent their countries, there's always the risk of injury just before a new season in the NBA begins. Livio Jean-Charles, the Spurs' first round pick of the 2013 NBA draft, recently injured his knee in FIBA play and will miss up to six months. The Spurs will have to be aware of half their roster (7-of-14 players) taking part in FIBA play in the next two months as Tony Parker and Boris Diaw are also playing with France in the Eurobasket, while Marco Belinelli will play with Italy. Patty Mills and Aron Baynes will be representing Australia in the FIBA Oceania tournament while Cory Joseph will be playing for Canada down south in the FIBA Americas tournament. Minor injury or not, this may not sit well with Spurs fans who feel international players should rest up in the offseason over putting their bodies through more rigors the month before training camp is to begin. Still, there is the other side of the coin where fans can see why the Spurs' foreign players take pride in representing their home country. So where do you fall Spurs fans? Do you agree with these players suiting up in the offseason or not?

San Antonio Spurs: Best and Worst Off-Season Moves

San Antonio Spurs: Best and Worst Off-Season Moves By Anthony Groves: Hoopstuff Writer… Best: Signing Marco Belinelli This is one of the most underrated moves of this off-season. Last season, he shot 39%, in an offense that struggled without their floor general, but he did shoot 36% from three, so he helped their floor spacing. Belinelli’s playing style is perfect for the Spurs’...

Report: Gregg Popovich Always Wanted Metta World Peace On Spurs

You learn something new everyday. When Metta World Peace was searching for a team to sign with after being amnestied by L.A., he briefly considered signing with the disciplined and boring San Antonio Spurs. Wow, I can only imagine World Peace and Popovich interacting on the bench, but according to reports, it almost happened. According Project Spurs via Daniel Artest, World Peace...

Kawhi Leonard signs two-year commercial deal with H-E-B

San Antonio Spurs' Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker are very, very good at winning basketball games. They are not particularly good at acting, though it may be because San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich doesn't spend sufficient time addressing this very important subject.   So what do these H-E-B commercials need? A deadpan small forward whose smiled...

This is one awesome drawing of Spurs' Tiago Splitter

Not to take anything away from Project Spurs' very own Jesse Blanchard. Trust me, he is one great artist but this drawing of San Antonio Spurs' Tiago Splitter ranks right up there in the "coolness" spectrum. Check out this drawing of Splitter in a mixed Spurs-Team Brazil jersey. Though with no pupils in his eyes, he does look a bit spooky and souless. ...

Pendergraph been 'dreaming' of playing with Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs signed Jeff Pendergraph, a scantly utilized 6-foot-9 power forward, at the behest of former Indiana Pacers assistant Jim Boylen. Pendergraph will net $3.58 million over the next two seasons, despite appearing in just 96 games through four seasons. (A torn right ACL undercut his entire 2010-11 season.)   Boylen worked closely with the bruising 26-year...

Report: Spurs interested in guard Bobby Brown

With one vacant spot remaining on the San Antonio Spurs' current roster, there are already many rumored candidates for the position such as Greg Oden, Deshaun Thomas, Antawn Jamison, and Mo Williams. You can now add guard Bobby Brown to the rumored list as well as Marc Berman of the New York Post indicated Thursday. San Antonio and Memphis are also interested in Brown...

Parker would love to play in China after retirement

The San Antonio Spurs have 11 contracts expiring prior to the 2015-16 season, just two years from now, including team-friendly deals (relative to their experience and production) to Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. It certainly seems that the 2015-16 season will be a finite end to the vaunted Big Three era, though Spurs general manager R.C. Buford still maintains that San...

Report: Oden to make decision this weekend

The San Antonio Spurs have one roster spot left heading into next season and it possibly could be filled by center Greg Oden. There has been numerous reports linking the Spurs (among other teams) as possibly Oden's next stop in his NBA career.  Reports state the Pelicans and Heat are the frontrunners, however, the Spurs are still in the mix for the big man's services...

Popovich wanted Metta World Peace to become a Spur

Crazy, how the most insane NBA players are always wanted on the top NBA teams. I don't know what it is, maybe it is their swagger, their demeanor, or even the toughness they bring to the court. I just see them as train wrecks that bring their teams to the ground (look at what happened to JR Smith after he elbowed Jason Terry). As for Metta World Peace, to me, has played a little...

Report: Richards to play basketball in Dubai next season

According to James Dugdale, a strength and conditioning coach, San Antonio Spurs 2010 draftee Ryan Richards will be playing somewhere in Dubai next season after winning a championship with BC Vienna of the Austrian League in his last season.
