According to Newsday, Jets cornerback Aaron Berry suffered a torn ACL today and will miss the entire 2013 season. The cornerback — who expected to see ample playing time this season — suffered a torn ACL on the Jets’ first day of training camp. The news was first reported by Central Pennsylvania TV station ABC27. Berry, a Pitt product,  went down after colliding with receiver Joe Collins during a drill period. The cornerback laid motionless on the grass for about a minute, but appeared to be somewhat OK after he was attended to by trainers. Berry limped off the practice field and did not return. Berry would have been a big help to the Jets after trading away Darrelle Revis during the offseason. Need NFL Tickets? Loading... Plenty of Competition at Jets Camp

Cortland, NY – Whether fair or not, there is not as much fanfare around the Jets this offseason. Several big names have been shown the door following a 6-10 debacle of a season, and analysts are picking the Jets to finish near the bottom of the league. But what the turnover and lack of gaudy expectations has done is it's led to more competition in training camp this year."...

Jets' Holmes uncertain if he'll be back this year

Santonio Holmes says he ''can't answer'' whether he will be able to return to the field for the New York Jets this season as he recovers from a serious foot injury. Holmes says Friday on the first day of training camp practice that it's all up to how the foot feels. He has been doing ''quite a bit of running,'' but most of it has been straight...

New York Jets fan wears great t-shirt to camp

There’s an old saying that states a picture is worth a thousand words. For frustrated New York Jets fans, this one might invoke a few more than that. Last season, the Jets went 6-10, behind a passing offense that struggled mightily with Mark Sanchez at the helm and a Rex Ryan defense that was less intimidating than it had been in past years. Add in the drama that Tim Tebow brought...

Braylon Edwards Says Mark Sanchez “Can’t Make Mistakes Like He Has in Past”

Braylon Edwards is back for his third tour of duty with the New York Jets, but it’s the same old story as usual.  The Jets have no true play makers on the outside, and Mark Sanchez is a question at quarterback. Edwards told reporters at Jets camp that Sanchez has a battle on his hands with Geno Smith, and that Sanchez “can’t make mistakes like he has in the past.” “It’s...

Jets guard Moore reportedly retiring

Don't worry -- this doesn't mean a butt fumble will never happen again. It just means Mark Sanchez won't be taken down by the same rear end that felled him last Thanksgiving. Jets guard Brandon Moore is retiring from the NFL , Adam Caplan reports. Moore played 144 games in his career, starting 137 in a row. But his most-remembered moment will not be the consistent protection...

John Idzik has heard the calls of Gang Green Nation — Braylon Edwards will be suiting up for the Jets during training camp after signing a one-year deal with the team according to a source. Braylon Edwards knows Mark Sanchez needs to be better to hang on to starting job in New York

Without a doubt, the biggest quarterback battle, or at least the closest watched battle, is in New York where rookie Geno Smith is trying to unseat veteran Mark Sanchez for the privilege of leading the Jets' offense on Sundays this season. Players have been weighing in the matter for much of the offseason, and now it's apparently wide receiver Braylon Edwards' turn...
